I suggested much ealrier a morale system based off of the already in place model used in www.footstar.org
It takes into accoutn bling/housing/boats/cars/ and the like. it would be very easy to implement into this game. right now morale serves nearly no purpose, nor does anything rarely affect it.
Once devs here genereate a new way for teams to genereate more revenue, players' salaries would become more competitive and teams could actually have biddign wars over players based off of their contracts.
as it stands now, money is meaningless for everyone except owners building a staidum and buying EQ for players.
Under a "Stuff-based" morale system, players would need to buy things to keep up their morale, which means they would need higher salaries... it would make teams that are very profitable, but not a winnign team able to compete int he market.
A thing like this however could never be implemented until a systematic change for all of the GLB current economy changes. EQ would have to become cheaper, players would need higher salaries, a salary cap may need to take effect, and teams would need to be able to make MUCH more revenue at every level, from pro to BBB. currently, the idea that Pro>AAA>AA>A>BBB holds true only within each region, but globally some BBB's>A>AA>AAA.

This idea could tie into some sort of endorsements idea...ie hotel endorsements for road games = morale/energy boost
