I want it to be like the actual probowl voting. It is not restricted to 1 per team. I want the maximum participation possible, and 1 vote per team, while easy to implement, is not something i personally like.

I agree with the position breakdowns. Some positions will have 2nd, even 3rd teamers (QB, RB, WR?).

PhireHawk, i like your ideas and since it is something you have done before, we may end up doing it your way. But i want to take this time to see if we can figure out a better approach. i will research further tonight after work.

Could we possibly use 1 vote per team for the nominations? every team gets to pick 26 players plus their backups they want to put up for nomination. we can then have everyone vote on these nominations?

I think it will be easier to maintain integrity if it's limited to 1 vote per team. I'm not sure how many of you have multiple players that you control, and how many individuals actually comprise your teams.

I know that Windsor has 43 players on the roster, and of those 43 players, there are probably 35+ individuals.

If we get 35 votes, I'm not saying we'll be dishonest, but it leaves the door open for that to happen more-so than if it's 1 vote per team.

Either way I don't care.

And rather than having somebody vote, I am installing a message board now with Poll Ability. The board will automatically register votes, and then display the results as they are tallied.

I think you are right. number of individuals vary per team and could lead to favoring players, even if unintentionally. With the season to closing soon (and i want to close votes before playoffs start to not have any bias set in) using a msgboard with votes is probably our best bet.

Some Questions:
1. how do we control 1 vote per team? can we trust all teams to cast exactly one vote?
2. how do we nominate players? should this be open to all players or one per team?
3. I can help you setting up the polls.
4. Would teams be allowed to vote on their own players? If not, how do we prevent this from happening in the polls?

I can make sure 1 vote per team by assiging people to Forum Groups and setting privaledges.

Just wondering, why did you create a separate forum?

Because the forum I created can host polls - which is the only legitimate to tally votes that everybody can watch.

Secret ballet isn't gonna work for 2 reason:

1. People are dishonest
2. It's stupid for somebody to have to keep track of HUNDREDS of votes and then count them when a forum can do it automatically.

but you obviously were working on it before the probowl idea was thrown about. I was wondering why you wanted to create a USA #2 forum outside of glb?

i think it is a great idea if we can have people start using it. the glb forums have a lot of limitations.

saw your nominations thread. i think we need to specify the following:

1. How many players can be nominated at each position? (if it is just 1, say so)
2. How many players at each position will be up for probowl voting?

Just copy the list, and put a name next to each position.

Then you'll have the correct number of nominations.

Top vote getters are 1st team
Next highest are 2nd team

I am confused. before we start nominating, there are some important decisions that need to be made. i think we need to decide on the following:

STEP 1: NOMINATE PLAYERS
Select which players will be up for probowl consideration

Need:
1. Decision on who gets to vote (all users vs. one per team)
2. How many players are nominated at each position?
3. Deadline for nomination?

STEP 2: PROBOWL VOTING
Select which players deserve to be in the probowl

Need:
1. Decision on who gets to vote (all users vs. one per team)
2. How many players get to be in the probowl at each position?
3. Deadline for voting?

Instead of using the forums, we can collect everyone's input using surveymonkey. i have already set it up. Do we need any more decisions? If not, we can start voting on the above and take it from there.

My opinion

As a player, I feel one or two votes max per team. Owner and main GM. All votes are public.

Each team likely has a different amount of users based on roster and users with multiple players. So any open vote of one per user or player for a team wouldn't be even.

No one is allowed to vote only for their team solely, you must vote at least 3 (or more) positions from another team. (not that anyone would vote just for their team only).
