And I will guarantee there is no way that anyone in this league would beat Sicily if they tried the same exact gameplan. If you know its an exploit then protect yourself against. The only one that failed to gameplan was your defensive coordinator.

-1... we will agree to disagree.

Show me where it has been stopped, in higher level leagues? How are you supposed to game plan against it if you don't know its coming? If we were to run a certain defense all game to prepare against it then we would be screwed if they aired it out. Your lack of knowledge is amusing even if it is game planned against it is unstoppable in higher levels BORT has said that it was cheesy and he screwed up so please think before you speak.

I am thinking. Just tired of hearing the whining. If thats the way the game works run it yourself. I know Bort has said it is screwed up and I agree but until he changes it the play is fair game. Quit your pathetic whining and deal with it.

Exploiting the Strong I Slam is a fucking lame way to win a game

both teams have the same ability to run it. just try an compensate on D by trying to force fumble tackle and blitz the gaps with the SS and LB

Some teams have enough honour not to use the exploit. Anyway the days of the Strong I Slam are at an end, see the post from Bort below. Good luck Bubonic against Naples without it Lol

"During some recent discussion, I realized that the I slams are ruining the fun for many of you so, beginning with conference championship games, you'll have to use different plays and combinations to get equal results. Thanks to the test server crew for staying up late on this guys."

It sucks, but what can you do.

Exploit is a strong word, if any team could use it, I'd say exploit for sure but a really bad team cannot beat a really good team with it.

I've seen so many hate threads over it but I don't think it matters. If Heff uses it and beats the Nurples, two seasons from now, when he is recruiting, potential recruits will see the little trophy and be drawn to that and the Plague's play-calling likely won't even come up.

I suppose I'll weigh in here. Look, guys, I'm the DC and Bubonic had not run a full-on STR-I exploit offense prior to our game. They ran a varied rushing attack in their previous games and I assumed they would still. They have a great running game without having to use a cheese play, so I (wrongfully) assumed they wouldn't try it on us.

Yes, we should have fared better on offense with what we brought to the table. No, I wasn't going to program one cheese play over and over. We all knew whoever got past this game was going to lose to Naples, so in the grand scheme of things we really just lost out on a handful of concession sales and visitor money for the conf. title game. Not enough for me to lose respect amongst the circle of friends I've made on this game.

To Skuzoid and Kamikaze Hawk, I know where you guys stand. Appreciate your comments but you're missing the point. I could understand if they just ran it every down with a variety of plays. Hell, that's damn near what our own offense was for the majority of the season. But running one play over and over is lame. No way around it. (Go to a Madden tourney back when the FB dive was the exploit in that game and try getting out of the venue with your kneecaps if you ran it non-stop and won.) 20 sacks in a game by a DE was not a programmable play exploit. It was an unexpected build exploit. The WR screen is a better analogy and look where that is now.

Anyway, who knows how this league will even look after the reshuffling in the offseason. Just hope we get a shot at Bubonic again.

Very high class response. Much respect for you and I understand your frustration. I lost the league championship game in season 6 practically the same way. Although it was frustrating there was nothing I could do about it. Good luck .

Still would love to see where Bort actually said that. Would ease my mind some.

Saw this in another forum:

it hasn't been fixed yet. Bort entertained the idea in this thread of fixing it for the rest of the playoffs (http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=2389911&page=1) but never flat out came and said he was going to do it. If you read through the thread there's a bunch of people that are against fixing it. it may say its fixed in the test blog but it most likely won't be updated in the sim code till season 9 starts. unless you found a different post than I did, there's a million different links to a test blog and hard to figure out what's what.
