GG this week Hokies - your team is better than it's record. I won't say we had an off day, but we didn't execute like we normally do for some reason. You guys were able to jump out early. Luckily our defense was able to keep us in it and we were able to pull it out. Good luck the rest of the way.

GG to you too. I was glad to see the outcome, and cannot wait to hopefully meet you guys in the playoffs.

I'm hoping for a rematch with Tokyo first

I guess I don't consider a one point loss in a bad sim makes us "second best"...the playoffs can't come soon enough.

Oh I hear ya. Even with the sim the way it is, that game shows how good both our defenses are when we actually assert ourselves with a good game plan. We held each others offense to its season low in points. I think our key thing came down to limiting Wally to his worst rushing performance since last season.

Now let's just see if you continue what the undefeated teams do in the playoffs here...lose early

Well, if we lose, Its going to be our own fault. Or, it is the will of the GLB gods. And if we lose, even though it will hurt, I can settle losing to the teams in the top 5. You guys got great teams and anything could happen. Hokies and Patriots are on the verge of being a great team. But, they have some real stiff competition coming up on their schedule.

Id still think it would be cool to see both Tokyos in championship game. Time will tell.

So there's no chance another talented team could just flat out play/out game plan you and beat you? The only way you'll lose is if YOU mess up? I guess we'll see.

Well you know, we did beat you once, its only fitting to say we can do it again. Its really hard to tell. Its almost like we are playing 2 different seasons. Season 8.1 we won the battle, if we meet again, that will be season 8.2. Those changes Bort made improved our team and made quite a bit of difference. Im not sure about you guys because I honestly have not watched any tape of you since we played. Only thing I know is that no one else has beat you, so obvious those changes did not hurt you any.

One thing I do know, when we do meet again, its going to be another fun game to watch. Id like to see a little more scoring.....on our part anyways!! lol

The only reason you won that game is due to a ridiculous bullshit kick return by a friggin' fullback. If you had handily won the game, I could understand your claim to being unbeatable except by your own hand, but you didn't. Fact is, you squeaked out a win. If there is a rematch, I have to say I like our chances

Is it so ridiculous that the said FB is tied for 1st with 4 kick returns for TDs this season? 4th in the league in KR avg? And I can claim to being unbeaten because we are. I have good reason for having pride in our season, yes we have been behind, yes we have had to battle back in the 4th quarter and take it into OT. We have beaten the top teams in our conference, even if it was a "bullshit" TD. Maybe you will win in the playoffs, as you probably should. Let me break it down for you....

Vanuatu Headhunters Tokyo Kamikaze
Record ... 10-1 .............. 11-0
Points for ... 704 ................. 578
Points against ... 145 .............. 154
Opp Record ... 51-70 ................ 54-67
Avg starter lvl ... 48 .............. 45
Avd backup lvl ... 42.5 .............. 37

So yes, looking it at on paper, you should be the team thats 11-0. Better offense, better defense, higher lvl players, and an easier schedule thus far. Honestly man, I agree with you, to an extent, but it is what it is, we prevailed that day, and it may, or may not happen that way next time. We honestly were planning on losing the game to tell ya the truth, and that would have been fine because of your guys strength. Thats why I said its all up to the GLB gods on who wins.Either way, Id still would love to play you again in the playoffs, because again, if we lose, I sure as hell hope its to a better team, someone that will represent our conference well, and show them guys over in Garuda that we are not in fact the push over conference!!

You misunderstood me - I didn't say your claim to being unbeaten was incorrect, how could I when you're 11-0? What I said was "If you had handily won the game, I could understand your claim to being unbeatable except by your own hand, but you didn't" - in other words, you claimed earlier in this thread that the only way you'll lose is if you beat yourself, which I take offense to because, to put it simply, we can beat you. I just hope we get a chance to show it. I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Well yes, at our own hands, and at the hand of the GLB gods. I didnt mean it in the way that you guys cant beat us because your inferior. It was directed towards making fun of this game itself because it seems that almost anything can happen during the course of a season. In no way was it to demean your team, you guys are top notch. It just so happened when we played last, Riggins farted and your guys passed out when they got close to him, and they dropped like flies. He was told not to go to White Castle prior to the game.......

I honestly think its a stamina issue, or depth issue, or both. The more fresh the guys are, the better they play at end games. Vanuatu has had great success because of it, they did lose to us, but if you look at the game quarter by quarter, we won the battle in the 1st half, albeit not by much, then our guys got tired in the 2nd half, and they whooped us in yardage, we just had enough in the tank to get us by and stop them when we needed. Thats a testament to how good our def is, we knew that was our strong point going into the season,

The Kathmandu game is a different story. You guys flat out, out played us in the 1st half, not that we did bad, you guys were better. Even in the 3rd quarter as well. Then you guys got tired, mainly on def. And in overtime, you went 3 and out, we 40 yards or so for a game winning fg, but missed, you guys went 3 and out again, and we drove 40 yards again, this time to win it. So although we won, you guys have better built players, but with lower stamina or weaker depth.

Of course you have to factor in game plans, depth, and subs settings. You could take a look at almost any game, and see a what very well could be a stamina swing.

Both these games have been my favorite. Both games were straight up ugly at one point, then damn beautiful at others, riddled with sacks and turnovers, to having highlight reels. Just as a rivalry should be. Reminds me of back in the day games between the Greenbay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.

I cant wait to see this one here
