Uhh, yea. I don't even think that's up for debate at this point.

The Bombers are a real shitty team with bad gameplanning that's gotten lucky so far if u ask me.

Well, we kept it closer than I thought we would. Mobile Bay's run game was just too stout.

Yeah, BWG, if 24 points can be considered close... it was closer than I thought it'd be as well. The Cubs are going to be tough to beat next season, as I expect you guys will stick around here and about 3 of the currently better teams will get promoted.

Mobile Bay has clinched a first round home game, with week 16 against Urumuqi as their only tough game left... only the Bombers and PIGS of the Zeta playoff teams have an easy week 14 game.

Tuvalu held serve, surviving a scare from SAFSrbija making Tuvalu's next game (vs. Knox) their last regular season challenge. If they win that one (and their last two which they'd have to gameplan to lose), they're locked into the #1 seed. Knox would love to improve their own standing by handing Tuvalu a second loss... would put Knox in better shape for 2 playoff home games and a shot at the #1 seed.

Urumuqi joined the club and beat THE PIGS, but haven't yet clinched a first round home game as they still have to avoid an upset by PENRITH next week, and face Mobile Bay in week 16... a game that'll decide at least seeds 2-5. THE PIGS will win their last 3 games and finish at 10-6, have the tiebreaker over the Cubs, and since PENRITH is a hefty underdog facing Urumuqi next game, PIGS are pretty solidly locked into the 6-seed.

SAFSrbija hosts the Cubs next game, which is another nasty game for Endzone in the middle of 4 ugly ones (Mobile Bay, Tuvalu, Cubs, Knox... in a row... ouch). It wouldn't surprise me if the Cubs win, but the level advantage Endzone has is pretty huge and they should pull out the victory.

PENRITH thrashed Alabama today to lock both themselves and the Cubs into the final 2 playoff seeds. PENRITH could potentially get the 6-seed, but will have to beat Urumuqi this week to manage it... I don't see that happening.

Agreed. It would be nice to see a weekly power rankings, but Rat's doing a good substitute.

Week 14 had a bit of drama, as the Cubs manage an upset over the slumping Endzone and a major AI incident by Tuvalu gave Knox a runaway victory. Here's what's up for the Zeta playoff teams for week 15 and beyond:

Mobile Bay Bombers - After a gimme today, they get Alabama next game, who won't be a problem for the Bombers. Their seeding depends almost entirely on their Week 16 game with Urumuqi; a win there means 1st place, a loss probably means 4th.

Knox Nightmares - Aided by a Tuvalu AI error, it looks like Knox can finish no worse than 2nd. They have to play SAFSrbija in week 15, a team that's hurting from a tough losing streak, though it should be a tough game still. If Knox does lose to the Endzone, (and Mobile Bay loses in week 16) it could create an ugly tiebreaker situation with 4 teams at 14-2... I don't know how that tiebreaker would work... Urumuqi and Knox would have only 1 loss vs. the other 3, and Knox will likely have the most points scored and a victory over Urumuqi... so Knox may get 1st place should that happen. It very likely won't.

Urumuqi Sanguo Dynasty - They handled PENRITH easily today, as expected, and could finish anywhere from 1st to 4th. Well, maybe they can finish 1st, but that would mean that they'd both have to beat Mobile Bay in week 16, and have Endzone beat Knox next game... and get some quirky tiebreaker love. I'm guessing Knox will win out, and Urumuqi will lose a tough one to MBB in week 16, which because of their interconference loss, will put Urumuqi at the 4-seed entering the playoffs, and a 2nd round rematch with the Bombers.

Tuvalu Matadors - An AI mistake today puts their hopes for the #1 seed out of reach, and heavily reduces their chances at a 2nd round home game. They will win their last two games easily, and are probably going to finish in the 3rd spot. If Knox beats Endzone and Urumuqi upsets Mobile Bay, it comes down to a tiebreaker for the #2 seed, and Mobile bay has a big lead on Tuvalu in the points scored race, and Tuvalu has a big lead on Urumuqi (but Urumuqi has the Fire on their schedule)... so in all likelyhood, Tuvalu can do no better than the 3-seed, and in case of Urumuqi & Knox victory, are in decent shape to still get the 3-seed over Urumuqi.

SAFSrbija Endzone - They took another tough loss today, as the Cubs edged them out by taking a solid lead into the 4th quarter. Endzone is locked into the 5th seed no matter what happens against Knox next game, as they get a CPU in week 16 to ensure a better record than the Cubs. These guys are tough, so nobody wants to get stuck playing them in the first round as the 4-seed.

THE SPRING PIGS - With two cupcakes left, the PIGS are locked into the #6 seed still. Although they haven't shown it since week 6, the PIGS are a significant threat in the playoffs, though Tuvalu may just have their number and are their likely opponents.

Papua New Guinea Cubs - With an impressive win over SAFSrbija today, the Cubs have shown they too are a threat to quality teams. They're a very fast team that can burn anyone, it's just a matter of whether or not they can take care of the ball and their defense can get enough stops. The Cubs should win out, but even if they lose to Alabama, they'll be the 7-seed.

PENRITH OUTLAWS - They too should win their last two games, but they're locked into the #8 seed. I don't see the CAPSLOCK as a threat to any possible #1, but at least they'll get their playoff bonus.

I'm guessing the top 4 will end up being(in order):
Mobile Bay
Knox
Tuvalu
Urumuqi

Only have to "get lucky" one more game to be the #1 seed.

Well, Knox scraped by SAFSrbija today, so there's just the week 16 showdown between Urumuqi and Mobile Bay to decide the top 4 seeds. All tiebreakers can now be based completely on head-to-head victories.

If Mobile Bay wins:
1. Mobile Bay
2. Knox Nightmares
3. Tuvalu Matadors
4. Urumuqi Sanguo Dynasty

If Urumuqi Wins:
1. Knox Nightmares
2. Urumuqi Sanguo Dynasty
3. Tuvalu Matadors
4. Mobile Bay Bombers

Bottom 4 are locked in:
5. SAFSrbija Endzone
6. THE SPRING PIGS
7. Papua New Guinea Cubs
8. PENRITH OUTLAWS

As a Knox guy, I guess we'd rather be the #1 seed, to get PENRITH rather than the Cubs in the first round, and financial reasons, but seeing the only team that beat us this season in the second round rather than the conference championship seems anticlimactic. Granted, seeing Tuvalu in the second round isn't exactly an improvement.

Looks like we've got Knox in the 1st round. Here's hoping I can make it a competitive game.

So, with Mobile Bay taking care of Urumuqi in week 16, the playoffs are set.

Round 1

8. PENRITH OUTLAWS at 1. Mobile Bay Bombers -
Mobile Bay should cruise through this game, as the only "sure thing" to make it to the second round. PENRITH doesn't have the talent or experience to pull an upset here.

5. SAFSrbija Endzone at 4. Urumuqi Sanguo Dynasty -
This was a very close game in the regular season, Urumuqi was victorious as they scored TD's while Endzone kicked FG's. I have a feeling SAFSrbija will win this time, in another very close game.

6. THE SPRING PIGS at 3. Tuvalu Matadors -
Following some AI issues later in the regular season, Tuvalu is looking dominant again, and THE PIGS just aren't the team they were last season. I expect a 3 TD victory by the Matadors, but the PIGS could make a game of it with turnovers if the RNG sides with them.

7. Papua New Guinea Cubs at 2. Knox Nightmares -
In their regular season matchup, Knox' offense struggled and the Cubs tied the game up with less than 2 minutes to go in the 4th before being broken down by Knox' return game. I'm expecting another tough battle, but another narrow Knox victory.
