Grinnel isn't a bad team, not by a longshot. I don't think anyone is trying to say that. But the power rankings don't care about the future, they simply care about the past. Grinnel will likely jump back above us after their next few games.

But in the end, the championship is what really matters. Here's to hoping Samoa and Grinnel meat up in the playoffs, we'll see who is best once and for all.

It is pretty simple actually. Your ranking is based off of the teams you beat, so by beating Perth you actually make their record worse so you get less points for the win. However, the teams you beat previously also played a game, and if they all lost as well, your points for beating them are now worth less. If all of your wins come against 2 or 3 win teams, every game they lose makes them worth less points.

Part of the reason why Samoa is as high as we are is because we've beaten a lot of teams with at least 7 wins. If all those teams lose the rest of their games and finish 7-9 then our point total will go down even if we don't lose again the rest of the season.

I could be wrong here but that is my understanding of the rankings.

I made a casual remark that I was puzzled how we won big and fell a spot. I acknowledged my error and pointed out that we have played a few good teams. You call that tooting my horn? Dude, you're flattering your own wit here. Your hyperbole shows your own lack of emotional control. You obviously reacted angrily to what you perceived was an attack on your team, and you can't let go of it.

If I was tooting my own horn and playing a bugle, I'd be saying something like: "You all suck, Grinnell is the bomb beyotch, we will be undefeatedz so STFU buncha nubz" or some crap like that.
