The greats were undefeated against us (Headhunters) last year, so we can't really talk. We've upgraded this year so hopefully the story will be different.

Like I said...as soon as they beat you guys, IF they do, then they will move up. I have factored into my rankings the "bitch" factor, which typically pushes people who whine about the rankings the most the furthest down.

I'd agree if #1 was #1 for any particular reason.
Any power ranking that was worth a damn would have had the Devils #1 and the Greats #2 to start, so in my book we beat #1.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but what makes the Devils and Greats better than the Pigs or Headhunters? Would just be interesting hearing what you think.
Because the Devils and Greats went 5-0 against them last year. Coming into the season you base your opinion on that.

Fair enough. Just curious.

Nothing except, that was then and this is now.
Nothing stays the same in GLB. Past performance is not indicative of future performance especially considering GLB seasons.

Yeah...you nailed it. Just picking names out of the air. Can't believe it took you guys so long to figure that out. By the way, rather than spending your time bitching about the new guy doing the power rankings in a manner that you don't approve of, you could always opt to get off your ass and do them yourself, yes?
You don't like the way I do it . . . do it better. It became fairly obvious that no one else in the league was all that inspired to post anything, other than you claiming to have the best team in creation, so please forgive me for jumping in and taking the reins.

Say it ain't so . . . that is blasphemous, Denman. After all, the Crusaders lost to both the Drive-By and Pygmys last season, so obviously that means that the same will happen again this season, right?
Oh . . . wait. Maybe not.

you are both right, the headhunters and pigs have beat all of the best teams this year, and are the bees knees

I was never disagreeing with you or PBer on your thoughts. I love seeing PBers rankings a really appreciate the time he puts into it. None of the top teams have played each other yet, so I was only interested in why you put the Devils and the Greats ahead of the Pigs and Headhunters.
The Greats have beaten teams with a combined 8-8 records by a total score of 162-99.
The Devils have lost to the Greats and beaten teams with a combined 5-7 record and total score of 253-108.
The Headhunters have beaten teams with combined 8-8 records with a total score of 377-42
The Pigs have beatem teams with a combined 8-8 record with a total score of 321-28.
Since the Headhunters and Pigs have both played a CPU team, it skews those numbers a bit. My only point is to say that it is very close at the top and will have a much clearer picture of who the top teams are further into the season. And, like I said, you may wind up being right. I am not disputing your claims, but I was just suprised to see how emphatic you were in stating who you thought was #1 and #2.

Simple facts:
- Coming into this season, the Devils had the highest overall player average, the Pigs were 2nd, the Headhunters were 3rd, etc. So PRESEASON rankings had a lot to do with that. The Greats were 6th, so that's primarily why they didn't start out the season at #1. I have NO IDEA if you have the same roster as you did last season, or if everyone else kept theirs 100% the same, so it's one of the best estimations you have before any games are played.
- So far this season, the Greats have played the hardest schedule (out of the top 5), followed by the Devils, Mountaineers, Headhunters, and Pigs.
- So far this season, the Headhunters have the highest scoring offense (out of the top 5), followed by the Pigs, the Devils, the Greats, and then the Mountaineers
- So far this season, the Pigs have allowed the fewest points scored (out of the top 5), followed by the Headhunters, Greats, Mountaineers, and then Devils.
- There are a few other things I factor in to my power rankings . . . things that I have seen have an effect on the game.
Now . . . you can either put together a formula that takes ALL of that into account, and base your rankings on that, or you can decide that the best teams are based on who won what from the previous seasons. I know from history that my approach tends to be a bit more accurate. So if you want to move up the rankings . . . win your games, score more points, and keep the other team from scoring as much. It's really pretty simple.
As an example: So far this season, I will give you that the Greats have played the hardest schedule (of the undefeated teams), but they are also 3rd in scoring and 3rd in points allowed. Sorry . . . that doesn't earn you a #1 spot. I imagine if you guys keep going the way you are, however, that the #1 spot is well within reason. Are you really that bent out of shape that you don't have it in week-freaking-four of the season?
Seriously?
And again . . . if you want to take over and do a better job, have at it. I'll just stick to the stuff I do in SA.

Let me just say that I'm not bent out of shape, I know which teams are the best, but don't think I'm not going to point out when someone is clearly wrong.
-The Greats and Devils(and to be honest I wouldn't even bet on us if we played the Devils again) are the top talent and it is obvious, and I have no doubt that it will be proven (even though it already has).
-Levels have nothing to do with how good a team is(within relative limits).
-Points scored and points allowed don't mean shit.
-Seriously look at who people have played. It is easy to tell who is tops by this.
Greats
Cheetahs - have only lost to powerhouses(Greats/Raiders) and have played them close, this team will surprise a lot of people
Devils - probably the best team in AAA 2, at worst 2nd best
Peckerwoods - This team is legit and has only lost to the two best teams in Lion.
Devils
Greats - obviously a powerhouse, and lost by 1 point in a shootout
Drive-by - smacked around this decent team
Peckerwoods - smacked around this quality team
Pigs
have beat a promoted AA team and not decisively, their TD with 2 min left makes it look a lot less close, besides that they haven't even played another team with any playoff potential
Headhunters
have beat a promoted AA team

So if the preseason rankings are so meaningless why do they basically determine where everyone is ranked now? Because you have no other reason to have the Pigs and Headhunters at the top.
