You don't want it to be a "merit" based system, because again you'd see a rich-get-richer scenario. It was supposed to be at least somewhat random based on the fame-lottery.

In any event, the equipment is turned off for the first game, and hopefully they'll fix it so it's not so oppressive before it has any effect. It was a cute idea, but if it effects game play drastically - and as set up, I think it would - it's not a good addition.

I got one of the pieces, but I'd rather not upset the real competitive balance of the league. We earned where we're at right now; we sure as hell don't need an unfair advantage on top of it.

oh I agree 100% stein. Its great to see our team get 11 out of the 16 but at the same time... its not even close to fair imo. After seeing what some of these pieces are... just insane how much of a boast it will be to a player... Let alone a team with 11 of them.

Imo, it was WAY unfair, and hope it gets reset to only allow 2 per a team, one on each side of the ball. (if you are lucky enough to get the 2)

Funny enough, everyone made threads about Adam Avalanche and how amazing he is.. Yet he didn't receive any endorsements. So its partially random? Meh hopefully it gets fixed real soon.

Everyone and the madden comments, props. Quite funny ^_^.

Did anyone really think WSI wasn't going to win this season anyways?

Everyone wanted to hope, if they had 11 endorsements even that would be gone.

If WSI gets to keep all their endorsements, they should flip offensive and defensive players and go 16-0 that way.

I am in the same conference as WSI .......... they should have won and should get to keep every one of those awards. Their agents and players are completely unselfish and do not worry about stats. When you run with that type of depth, they are worried about one thing....winning. To reward that type of agent is the right thing to do.

Samoa has players that are only worried about winning too. We weren't quite able to do it last season. But none of our guys were really concerned about stats (maybe one or two, but they left). Does that mean we deserve them too? We have a ton of unselfish agents, who were completely ok with losing starting spots just for the sake of bringing more talent in. Tons of teams are like that.

Note that I'm in favor of WSI keeping them for this season. But I do think the system of limiting to 2 or 3 in the future is a safe bet. I don't think the current ones should get removed, but the system does need reworking. If WSI should be rewarded for anything, it should be Nautilus' ability to gameplan and run a team incredibly effectively. Players who are willing to take lesser positions for the sake of winning should be rewarded, but only one team of them being rewarded is a bit off.

my team gas 6 of them, and i dont think they should take them away....but i do think they should lower the value they have. I would say they do this for all teams who received more then 4 pieces

Then issue new endorsements to teams to ensure all teams have 2 or 3 per team and leave them the more powerful pieces. Create some equity between top and bottom teams.

People would go NUTS if the endorsement was taken away from them, and this would alleviate some of that....but I am sure some will complain.

My team was promoted, so we are going to get killed with or without the equipment...but it is disheartening to teams that got nothing and try to compete and catch the top teams.

The difference is WSI went 20-0 and Samoa didnt. If you look at this from a marketing standpoint, which that is what endorsements are based on, WSI would be the most attractive draw.

10 of the top 16 endorsement getters in the NFL aren't on the Steelers. They tend to be the elite players from around the league. Something needs to be fixed in the fame system. The 7th LB on WSI who's #3 on the depth chart and plays ST's should not be more famous than the starter from a 10 win playoff team.

WSI is a good team and they're classy about their dominance of OPL and GLB, but that doesn't mean every guy on their roster should have 1200+ fame. Especially when even their starters at some positions are only getting 25-30 snaps some games. I don't mind the uber-depth model many of the very elite teams have, but there should be a sacrifice and that should be fame.

Tbh, this entire endorsement thing has given me a freakin headache. The failure of Bort on rolling out before testing, the arguing blah blah blah. Do the freak away with it, imo.

Agreed 100%.

Also, there is no way in hell Juan Nightstand (kicker from the Nites) should be more famous than Denver LastDinosaur...even with a few more seasons of experience in OPL. That is just ridiculous.
