I am all for letting Eci relish this one little gold trophy. I know if it took me 6 seasons to win one gold trophy, I would be relishing that bitch for all its worth. Paper title or not they won, but we were not afforded the luxury of facing them twice in a season unlike what the P-woods had to endure. We are much tougher the second time around and I highly doubt 7 points was enough cushion for that team.
Its all speculation, I agree. However, this season you will not be able to roll through a season facing 2 legit opponents and one legit playoff game to get to a championship game. If I were a betting man, knowing the track record of said team, I wouldnt bet on Eci running roughshod through EC this season on their way to destroying whatever opponent the LC throws at them. I would know to wait on placing that bet for at least another 5 seasons so they can accumulate the level advantage needed to beat a team half as old as them in a championship game.
I have alot of respect for the P-woods because when we faced you guys it was something different the second time around, something that tried to address your weaknesses and our strengths. Eci just got cocky and did what they had been doing all season long. Their defense was bland and predictable, and it was no surprise that their offense was as equally bland and predictable. They were lucky noone in AA3 last season had anything to match up with a TE with over 100+ speed and 60+ agility. This season they may actually have to scout and not just rely on a given mismatch to pull them out of a close game.

Wait. You seem to confuse having several teams of equal level to having a better conference. I don't get it. You had AT MOST, two difficult games before the playoffs (one of those teams we beat week #1 and since this seems to be a legit discussion, I'm gonna leave out the consolation game scrimmage). Then you lion lost in the championship game to elephant.
IN ADDITION - you seem to be taking credit for the awesome game planning in your conference while stating the E'ci was bland and predictable. Yet, despite you knowing exactly what they were doing, you got beat. So how does that support your game planning?

That would be an affirmative born and raised, I have lived elsewhere for about 8 years yearning to return. Thankfully, now there are alot more government jobs around and one can actually afford to live here decently.

Bill- how does confusing having more quality teams (competitive teams) with having a better conference, confuse you? Now Im confused. I believe logic would dictate that if at some point a conference has to fill playoff spots with gutted teams that it would be hard to argue the better conference. LC last season had a 4 way tie to settle the last 3 playoff spots, yet the EC had a team give up mid season, gut their team, and yet still cruise in as an 8th seed into your playoffs giving the #1 team a first round bye. I understand your loyalty to your conference but I am not injecting bias into my statements, I am trying to justify with facts and statistics.
Also, beating a team week one is not a very good barometer of the team we had to beat week 14 or 15 whatever it was. They had several upgrades by that time at key positions. Your team is the one legit opponent I mentioned above and the reason that made you legit was you had the best defense in the entire league last season hands down. So its no wonder to me why you were able to limit their lvl 44 TE, you had the personnel to do just that. You were like the Baltimore Ravens of recent years past, if a team scored more than 17 points on you, your offense struggled to keep you in the game. We were the opposite with the personnel we had we were using double teams of lvl34 LOLB and a lvl41 run stuffing SS to try to contain that speed. Its a mismatch any way you look at it, as our FS was lvl 32 so that wasnt an option.
What was bland and predictable was our ability to put up the most points scored on them all season, what I am trying to take credit for is making the closest game they played all season. Both points are prideful considering the EC as a whole couldnt accomplish those feats. Since noone beat them all season long, you have to take solace in the few battles you win even if you lose the war.
As for the scrimmage, we do take them seriously and we havent lost many of those either. However, we dont show our "A" game nor our "A" AI either. So, if we win we win and if we lose either way our opponents come regular season time have nothing to scout. Best of luck to you, and I am curious to see how we fair against a tough "Raven's-like" defense using an experimental setup. This allows us to maybe throw another setup into the kitty to draw from later on if needed.
