well technically they were underrated as they were the only roster in the league with all 40+ starters yet they finished the season with a team rating of 54. I believe all the teams that reached the championship games in their conference were 57 rated except for them. Ultimately that level difference coupled with the vet point advantage was too much to overcome for any squad. I would say we had the best overall offensive squad and the o's had the best overall defense, but Eci had the best overall combination of the two.

The debate might have been heated but not by me, its clear to me at least that the above quote merely stated what became reality in our matchup. I dont see how that can be debated when we had 4 defensive players above level 40 the majority of our defense is low-mid 30s. So on average almost all of our guys were spotting 8-10 levels or 40-50 SPs and at least 12-15 vet points. Yet we only lose by a TD. I believe when you look at it from a pure numbers stand point you will see that yes clearly that played a major role in the outcome. Agreeing with my above statement levels really dont mean squat, however, the combination of the two makes it just a bit harder to overcome with a unit of superior builds.
Mind you not a one of the players on our roster are slow built players, minus our 40+ guys most of the builds on this team are 4 seasons old or less and only have about 10 vet points total. Like I said from a pure numbers standpoint I dont know how that can be debated in this case.

In reference to this league this season but especially my team as you held the overall average level advantage and thus vet point advantage.
Both statements are true by evidence of the final score in our matchup. Further verified by the box score when you see the amount of missed tackles, because most people pump physical attributes before football attributes on defensive players. Once again I dont see how that can be debated.

I guess though my main point was missed that Ec'i was technically underrated not overrated. They were the only team of the final four with a 54 team overall rating. Obviously, vet points played a bigger role then even I thought they would have when you look at it that way.

One can analyze the game and overanalyze it, too. Both teams have reputations for GPing well, and that showed up in the game (with two potentially major, but which ended up being not so major defensive AI snafus by GLB which I'll discuss later).
The easy answer to why E'ci won was because they scored more points than Tanzania. Although Tanzania had decent response to E'ci's passing game, it couldn't stop the run for whatever reason. Tanzania did a better job against the incredibly awesome P'woods (just ask them if they are not incredibly awesome).
E'ci's defense against the 2 minute offense of Tanzania was lacking. Tanzania scored 14 of its points with less than 2 minutes to go in the half/game. Good job there.
Here's the AI snafu I mentioned earlier. If you notice on E'ci's defenses to the Single Back and Shotgun 3 formations, it is always playing a 4-2 nickel. I thought that was strange because I only ordered up 3-3 nickel defenses. The 4-2 defense is not even in the potential package for those formations. So be it. Would that have made a difference? Maybe, maybe not. I have no idea.
Except for Sitton's maxed out Go to Guy VAs, you don't know what E'ci's VAs were. And in general, I don't think anyone knows the impact of VAs on the game.
Lastly, because the Team Matchup page has been screwed up since its inception, teams GP off of that at their peril. I never took those matchups into consideration. If we did, we'd not have won as many games.
