I think Steelers win by double digits. Fitzgerald will get his catches, but the key will be how well Warner handles the pressure. If they get to him early, which I think they will, it's going to be rough for the Cards.

alot of that rams O was down the field too though and them wr wasnt getting a 10 yd speed start on the rams..
I've liked the Cardinals franchise for a while, but I HATE Kurt Warner (for the worst reason ever). I'm a browns fan, so I hate the Steelers, but they have a guy from the area I used to play against so gotta show some love for that.
I still think Cards win this, I'm just going by my squares, hoping for Cardinals 17 Steelers 6. Or was it the other way around. Damn.
Originally posted by AudiRacerA498 My opinion is that the Cards will win. I'm not a fan of either but I'd lean towards the Steelers if I had to pick a team to route for. I think the Steelers have their hands full. I agree with most of what Ryan said. There's also a couple points that I haven't heard much talk of though. Ken Whisenhut. The guy had been with the team for 6 or 7 years (first a TE coach then became OC). He left in 07 to be the HC of the Cards. He's been to the dance in 05 as well (with the Steelers). He knows Ben Roth. very well. He knows his strong points and has a better insight than most (outside the Burg's organization) on his weak points. Then throw in all the other players he was around as well. Ken probably knows Dick Lebeau pretty well also but that can go either way.
My other thought is that if Pitt doesn't get home when they blitz they're gonna eat it........ bad. If they back off Cards can draw and delay handoffs all day. Thats not Steelers ball though. They're gonna blitz. They wanna shake the old man Kurt up and get him thinkin about the pressure. They have to get to him though b/c like I said if they don't the Cards are gonna make them pay.
Here's how I think the Cards game plan will go: I think they start off with a balanced attack. They'll use draw/delay runs up the middle on downs where they think Burg's gonna overload a side which will leave the gut open as the rush comes from the outside. Or they'll start dinkin' and dunkin' on the side the blitzes come from or anywhere they see a soft spot in coverage. Until they get they're timing down and in a rhythm. I think they'll take a shot or 2 down field (I'm not talkin 60 yard bombs, I'm talkin 20+ yd posts/skinny posts kind of passes) against the blitz to open the Steelers eyes and put them on their heels and confuse them. I don't see them making this a shootout. I see more ball control with very long, drives and trying to keep that steelers D on the field and wear them out by using they're aggressiveness against them. I think that's gonna be they're main focus. Don't get me wrong though. Kurt will definitely take his shots down range if he see's the opportunity.
prediction is 28-27 Cards win
See the problem with Warner is that he eats Blitzes up. He is great at getting the ball out under pressure.
I saw a really good commentary where one guy said that the best way to beat Warner is to NOT blitz. He will hold on to the ball longer, allowing the regular rush to pressure him into throwing into coverage. Seems like a good strategy.
The Cardinals probably have the best receiving corps in the game. It is going to be a very tough matchup for the Steeler defense. And the Card defense is peaking at the proper time. They will shut down the run and force Ben to throw. If they can bring him down every so often instead of let him get ridiculous throws off, they have the game.
