Question: Does the regular demotion occur including the CPU teams, or does it send the CPU teams straight to BBB first and then do the demotion? And with 5 of the CPU teams in the West...does some of the East switch conferences?

Teams never switch conferences, that I've seen. It's entirely possible (as we saw in CPL) that a conference will be left alone for 2 or 3 seasons to slowly weed out the CPU/gutted teams).

Bort and the admins are trying real hard to not do anything aside from natural promotion/demotion (whihc I don't personally think will ever work). So it's entirely possible some CPU teams could be left and we won't see mass promotion. Guess it depends on how epidemic the gutting/CPU teams is this offseason when they review it.

I would personally like to see the conferences never change unless someone goes CPU. I would like everyone in that conference to have the FIRST opportunity to have a chance at having a team in the league. Yes this will create the Cowboys and Patriot types as well as the Saints and Brown's types, but with skill degredation in place all teams should have a chance.

What it boils down to is that when teams sell that means more $. I think implmenting the above would still allow for teams, you would just create new leagues.

Well, it's a happy and sad thing all at the same time.

Here we thought we'd be lucky to go 8-8 after being promoted, and here we sit 8-1 with a great chance of going 12-4 or 13-3 in our first season. Now we'll have to re-group and do it again next year.

I'm keeping my team together, so I guess we'll have to get our asses kicked next season.

I have a feeling if there are 5 CPUs in the West then 5 teams from our league and the other league combined from the West will move up...

Personally I will keep my team together with the exception of inactives and just level up naturally. But I dont see us having to worry about that this season...lol

If Bort would handle promotions this way.

1) Move Cpu teams downward.

2) Take all the teams at the level (lets say A for our example.)

3) Rate the teams by level, win/loss/ and builds.

4) Fill the teams in with the highest ratings starting with A1 then A2

5) The teams moving up move to the empty leagues. You would get one league that is mixed but it would be the worst A teams vs the best BBB teams.

You would also have to put in a Cap on trades for a season. You would have to have the team movement happen right before the season. This would prevent teams from bring in higher levels after the movement to throw off the leagues.

It would also get rid of teams that just buy and sell players. Or Gm and teams from renting their players out for extra money for their own team.

Things would that this would effect.

Instead of just moving up and down you would have teams moving sideways. This would give teams an idea of where they stand over all. Teams that game plan and understand the system would move up through their own league each season most likely before they are moved up to the next level.

There are other things you could do but that is the simplest change.

It would work for parity, but it would completely destroy rivalries. Whether we are equals or not, I look forward to playing the Wolverines every season just as much as I do the River Rats. IMO its a joke that the wolverines are still in BBB9 while Guelph is cpuing it up here, but those rivalries would completely erode if every season you had different teams in your conference.

The rivalries are definitely what keep me and my guys interested.
Nothing better than trying to avenge a loss or prove a previous victory wasn't a fluke.
Plus, a lot of us Owners/GM's have developed as friends, well at least a history.
You remove that, and you'll lose a lot of people. Probably including me.

what I look forward to is trying to beat Maulers once one day and getting Cincy's number back ....

We are going to be a force next season but the last two we have scrapped by with bandaids and duck tape.

It would have been nice to get some crazy playoff revenue so we could have a mauler esk stadium ...

Seriously, very nice stadium Maulers. While it was a hassle, I'm very glad that we moved up unexpectedly. We would have done well in BBB#9, but I'd rather lose to a couple of you and enjoy the challenge, than win every game and deal with the likes of SCIM.

Sadly the SCIM will be here next season from the looks of it. With the few teams dropping from here and some of our teams being moved up....

If they get moved up I hope we get an unexpected move up as well...
