Yeah, I am not really a fan myself of some of the changes but I am REALLY not a fan of some of the re-alignment changes.

I really feel my team is pretty much on what should be the "right path" in terms of promotions. Make a team, struggle, do well the following year, do well enough to get promoted the next year, move up, etc....

I feel bad for the guy who were not "dominate" in their lower league and still got moved up. Especially when you consider how tough it is to recruit 40+ players. If you were 10-6 in an "A" league with mostly low 30's players and got moved up to AA and are now facing 40+ guys you are not going to win alot of games. Game planning can only take you so far.

I guess, in theory, waiting a season for the top 4-6 teams to move up and plan on kicking butt the following year is an OK plan. However, teams who have been promoted with never having the benefit of 3+ home play off games are going to be hurting in the money area. Without a mostly finished stadium you simply cannot afford lvl 40 gear. It's almost impossible to recruit lvl 40+ guys of you cannot promise gear.

Oh well, I am mostly just not looking forward to another off-season of trying to find players. It'll drive me out of owning a team soon i think.

This is EXACTLY what happened to us. We finished 5th in our league, yet still got promoted. We are a good team, but when you are outleveled 3-8 levels at each position, it makes it hard to win.

I look at some of the bottom teams in this league and I really do not see jokes like I do in a lot of leagues--that team you don't have to prepare for except making sure your starters don't all come out in the first quarter. I see some really solid teams that have the really difficult task of playing teams much higher level. We were in a similar situation our first year, but we were levels 4-7 guys playing level 12-16 guys and by the next year we were a lot closer. It was easier to catch up at that low a level. Hang in there. The greatest test is getting the team to keep working together when they're this outleveled.

Man its pretty interesting we all seem to be in varying stages of burn-out and/or fed up with the latest re-invention of GLB.

Us guys on Tilburg have mostly been together as a group since season 3 and have had a blast up until recently, but impossible to fill roster gaps, the constant changes to the sim, the sudden obsolescence of players some of us have been boosting and investing flex in for 5 or 6 seasons, etc., have been spoiling the fun lately -- maybe things have just gotten a little stale too, but most of our guys' enthusiasm for the game has pretty much flat-lined

We hope to go out with a bang this season, because its extremely doubtful we'll be around for season 8. This team won together as a group and I'd rather turn our the lights than try and come back with a bunch of strangers in order to compete -- I guess loyalty is not something that the GLB system was meant to encourage -- I think the game peaked a few seasons back, but increasingly people are fed up, burned out and rethinking how much time and money they invest in a cool but apparently unreliable product

Think I'll end my rant there for now

I actually really liked our "A" league, which alot of the teams from here are from. We had been together for a couple years and were really building great rivalries. It's really the mass promotions that are killing the game. Teams that have paid the price for a couple season building their team deserve that pay off season.

I really liked the A league we were in. There was some pretty solid competition every year and good natured rivalries. Most of those teams are now up in this league, but I would have been just happy competing against you all.

No offense to the other teams in this league as you all have great teams, but we had that A league together for 3 seasons before this whole massive overhaul that Bort and Co. went through with. Now some of those original A league teams have folded because they weren't able to recruit the necessary players to compete in this league.

Something needs to be done and I like your plan Scrogz.

Heya HB741.....

If your guys start looking for a team let me know =)

The only thing that has really made it tolerable for me is I keep a number of my players on my team as dedicated back ups at tough to fill spots. Much easier to recruit starters. Almost impossible to find back ups.

My DC is my RL friend as are several of my other agents. We manage to keep the players on the team.

I am willing to be that at least 4 if not more teams from this league will be promoted. That's just a guess but I think alot of teams are going to fold. So many players are just hanging it up.

Long as my players want to keep playing I'll still own a team. I cannot freaking imagine what it's going to be like after season 12 when the vast majority of players hit their 10th season =/

Yeah, you will never see my plan as long as people continue to buy flex at an alarming rate. If I were Bort, besides having quite a bit of money, I would be shopping my game around to MMO producers. Picture this game produced by ESPN. The same or similar player building structure only with Madden like graphics and advertised on ESPN. It's a license to print money.

All these guys complaining about obsolete characters? If you had screwed up like I did and put split your points up evenly into all of your stats and not paid so much attention to gear, etc, you'd be well rounded like my guys.

I didn't follow the same rules everyone else did cause I'm a tool and it turned out okay for me.

I've gone back and forth selling this team back over this season. Probably making my GMs nervous as I debated this in private forums. I knew that we'd get our ass kicked moving up to AA (we weren't ready) but this season has been absolutely horrible for team morale. I'm going to keep the team for a couple more seasons hoping GLB realizes the error and makes efforts to change it. I don't know how to build players any longer. What I thought were good builds for CBs, Ss and DEs now don't mean a damn. I don't get it any longer.

We lost in the conference finals last season. Had we one more season in "A" league and I feel we would have been ready to get promoted.

If you have a bad build just wait for Bort to come around and change the game 180 degrees. You should have seen me trying to trade my 2 extra power backs for max cash this year and not getting offers. Bort has really made the power back so close to unstoppable. My big fear is he'll totally nerf them and we'll go one and out in the playoffs when Never gains 43 yards on 25 carries. Believe it or not, I'm not even really enjoying Never's season that much. Last year I had so much fun when I had an equal power back and a speed back and I could pass too and I'd be playing chess with the DC. This year designing an offense is even more time consuming, but much less interesting.

There is a lot of potential in this game, but it just feels like everytime we take 1 step forward we take 2 steps back. This year has to be Stockholm's year because next year Bort will probably nerf powerbacks. Could you imagine the NFL like this? Next year Adrian Peterson averages 3.5 yards per carry and Cedric Benson gains 1800 yards?

yeah, bad builds can turn good in a heartbeat. The powerback success is only temporary, thank god. And is this really going to be the last time we have a season like this? How many teams are probably going to get promoted? Is there any chance we only lose a couple teams? I've heard any where from 5 to 6 teams were moving up.

If we get moved up, I'm going to be some pissed. We just started to assert ourselves as a good team in this division after having our lunch handed to us all of last season. I'd rather stay here and earn the promotion rather than getting it by default into a league where we'll get smoked again.

I say bring on AAA. Ill move to the pro's even. Times will be tough regarless guys. Half the GREAT teams from A1 are here (us, WYW, Rome, plainview) and the battle continues. I like the new compition, and if you want a rival, BRING it. I know we new here, but if I have to start shit talking in here so you guys stay together, then so be it.

The teams that have been promoted from here have been doing well in AAA - several have already been promoted, and the ones topping the league were the same topping the league here last season - it might not be so bad.

I've been getting a little involved with a Pro team and I'd have to say there isn't that much difference between the good teams here and there, the main difference seems to be that there's just more good teams as opposed to 5 or 6 dominant teams in AA & AAA

We just played Birmingham in a scrimmage today. We were actually experimenting more than they were and we still won by 37 points. They're not a bad team and they still have playoff hopes in AAA alive.
