Here is the thread from the pro-bowl we ran last season - http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1574679

It was the same model as the one you are doing now. I think opening up the voting to all GMs and Owners with a 5 vote cap on each team and limiting each team to 5 players from their own team per ballot actually works really well. The more participation in this the better the results. It doesn't take all that long to do and makes it much more fun if people look into the stats a little more in depth than just pick the league leaders in every category. What role the person plays on their team, how well that team performs and against what kind of competition has the player played against are all things to consider.

I agree that it is probably too early to get an accurate picture right now, but nothing is set in stone until he counts the votes. So things can stay fluid until whatever the deadline is and it doesn't hurt for people to start thinking about who they are going to vote for so their ballot is as educated as possible.

Even if sonicdude is doing both conferences, I would say we still want two threads to make it cleaner. Since we already have one eastern conference ballot in here, we'll just make another thread for western conference voting.

If youonly due a 5 vote cap then you know no one will vote in punters/kickers/returners/oline etc.... and if you allow 5 per own team of course everyone will pull players from your own team... If you dont allow to vote for your own team it forces you to go out elsewhere and really look at stats, and you can see who is biased and not basing there votes on performance. I like the idea if you allow to vote your own, then after all the votes are in take like the top 5 at each position and then send it out to the owners and make them pick out of that top 5 list.....

Sorry, I didn't follow your post. I don't mean you get to only vote for 5 positions, it is 5 full ballots for teams and only completely filled out ballots should be accepted in my opinion. That way you have to vote for punters and kickers.

Also, I think you should be allowed a maximum of voting for 5 of your own players on said ballot, that way people don't turn in ballots of entirely their team but they can still give guys that they think are doing exceptional jobs on their own team some credit. The system that sonicdude is trying to run is the same as the one that I put together from last season and it worked out great.

And your team is just full up of pro-bowlers? I'm not saying ours is, but just cuz you guys don't like Boltz, don't label all of the players on the Blizzard as "crappy". We have some well built players over there.

you can have well built players but if the coaching is horrible your guys are going to suffer........and thus not being on the ballot
