They found a play that worked on our D, and ran it non-stop, it worked, all credit to them. Just means work to do for me.

Honestly I think that's a dick move - it always pisses me off when teams try this. That's not offense, that's just desperation and luck winning a game for you.

I think it's great scouting and set of balls. You don't see enough of these type of upsets these days in GLB.

You say 'set of balls', I say 'nothing to lose'. At the end of the day, we're talking about a team that is far inferior to the team they beat that had to resort to a desperation tactic to win. While I congratulate them for their win, it's not gonna win any respect for their team from me.

Maybe I'm just jaded, because while this has been tried on my team 5 or 6 times and I was disgusted with all the teams that tried it, it didn't win until earlier this season when we were still adapting to sim changes and a team ran weak-i dive on us all game, accidentally drawing a 3-4 alignment that my DC was testing out.

I said good game and congratulated them, but the rest of AAA forum started shitting on them hard for having to do that in order to beat us - now I guess they've succumbed to peer pressure and run a normal sort of offense, and they're losing left and right.

I agree with Josh, if a team scouts that much to find your weaknesses and is then able to exploit them, they earned it. If this game was all about just showing up with the best team, why even bother playing the games? Let the results be determined by whoever recruited the best.

It's like getting mad at the Giants for beating the Patriots last season because they found a strategy that New England hadn't seen yet (and refused to adjust to for that matter).

I just watched the game and man Ted Borg got torn apart. It wasn't the same play call 70 times, it was a certain set of plays but a really good set. I saw a ton of Shotgun Double Slant early in the game but only here and there later. It was certainly a passing offense which they've had all year, it doesn't look too much different from what they have been doing all season. They have fast WRs and they exploited the Maulers aggressive settings, well game planned and hell of a job passing the ball by Leonard Carmody, he saw every open player there was.

While I hate the whole one trick pony deal, the argument falls apart when two good teams play. There are a few teams who run the strong I off-tackle a lot. If they beat a similar ranked team doing it, is it a "dick move"?

The big issue is that we can't adjust during the game. Its no worse than having an offense run 5 wide the entire game. How many times did the Dolphins run the wildcat on the Pats the first time they played? Definitely, more than a few times. Its game planning.

erm, I'm missing the part where the giants got beyond extremely lucky in that final drive, in your post.

Agreed that the big issue is that you can't adjust during the game. And if they a good set of a few plays, that I don't so much have a problem with. It's the teams that run the same play over and over.

And to be completely honest, yeah when teams were winning doing Strong I off tackle, I did think it was pretty pathetic. Pathetic both that they had to stoop to that in order to win, and pathetic that the teams they were beating couldn't stop it.

Started out rough but we've gotten back on track we think. Had to do a big overhaul of our D AI in order to win games this season but it seems as though we're pointed back in the right direction - I think if we played those 3 losses again we'd definitely win this time around. We played a few former a7 opponents in scrimmages this season (Chicago... well, Tallahassee now, and Buffalo, as well as the Fins who won the first A7 championship) so that made me think of you guys - AAA forums were actually great at first but now they're slowing down so I'm slumming it on A7 and AA4 forums a bit more.

Hey sent you a scrimmage request. I want to see how we match up against a great team like yours!

They put themselves in a position to win on a lucky drive. Looked like a good gameplan to me. They threw something at the Pats on defense that they hadn't seen to that point, and it kept them in the game.

"Slumming it on the A7 forums".......thanks......glad we could be here to entertain you.

As for the Giants/Pats.
I dont get it.
Eli barely avoids a sack, heaves the ball up for grabs, and the receiver catches it on his helmet and we are supposed top believe they out played the Patriots?
Remove that play and the Giants dont even come close to winning that game.

Um, it was 10-7 Gmen with 11 minutes left to play...and the Pats didn't go up 14-10 until 2:43...I'd say the Giants kept it close all game. They put themselves in a position to win the game against a superior squad.
