Don't get too bent out of shape there tiger. After this year, you won't have to worry about being so ridiculously over-matched by the loud mouthed Windsor Team.

What will be really funny, is next season when our farm club joins this league and ass rails you.

You think we're talking a lot now? LOL

And it's obvious the power rankings are just based off of stats of games played, so it'll even out as the season goes on.

There's no way GSG is #2 in the league. We're just overachieving, and we've played a couple cupcakes to pad some of our stats.

There are quite a few teams in this league that are better, talent-wise, than GSG, including this week's opponent, S.F..

Which is really why he's trying to figure in a Strength of Schedule modifier. But the information he has to base any kind of rankings system on is extremely limited.

So again, don't look too much into it. It's just for fun.

The overall number is calculated by 7/16's X the Offense Ranking + 7/16's X the Def Ranking + 1 X the ST ranking.

So the Offense and Defense make up most of the overall, but the ST counts for some too.

Hehe, yeah. When I figure out how to rank teams using data from games they haven't played yet, I won't be spending my time here, I'll be in Vegas Baby!!!! LOL

To be fair, you guys have played opponents who have collected 12 wins, which ties you for 24th. So, you're somewhat correct there, but it could be worse. The Ft. Campbell Rangers have the lowest number opponent wins with 6. For a bit of perspective, the unfortunate Coronado destroyers have played teams with 21 combined wins, putting them first in the toughest schedule category.

Webzone hold the #3 offense to 3 points last week yet we're ranked 5th in D? Hmmm... Gotta ponder that one.

Although we do have a few very tough games coming up...we'll see.

Thanks for putting this thing together though....it's fun, even if it does get some of us a bit riled up.

Actually, we were bitching at Stickman yesterday for our defense being ranked 4th. We've only given up 17 points the entire season, are #1 against the run and the pass, and have shut out 4/6 opponents. Not really sure what else we can do.

And like you, we have a lot of tough games coming up - including one that looks interesting tomorrow:

I think one of the major limitations to my system is that it doesn't pull individual game data, but it's averaged over the entire season. So, maybe someone smarter than I am has a way to do it (without spending 20 hours inputting the data by hand-cause I'm not doing that), but I haven't figured out how to do that (or if it's even possible at all given the data we have available to us from the GLB website.

So, I don't have any way to rate the numbers from a stellar performance (say you holding the #3 offense to only 3 points) more than a stellar performance against the 32nd ranked offense. This would be excellent, but I haven't seen a way to do that with excel yet.

It's true...lol. Except for the part about us being first in total rushing yardage D, we're actually second there, but we're first in passing yardage D and total combined yardage.

My question to you Stickman is if by some miracle the Webzoners upset the Gorillas tomorrow how much will that affect our rankings?

The only way you can account for for a stellar performance would be to have a rolling weighted modifier for each game. Personally I think this would be way too much work and we would not see too much of a benefit. It would also be nice if you through out a teams best and worst performances of the year down the road so that outliers didn't affect the overall ranking (any offense no matter how god can have a bad day and turn the ball over 5 times).

You're kidding, right? I'd have to say this is the most evenly matched game of the season so far.

Unless you think changing your starting lineup, so you look weaker in your team profile, is fooling anyone?

This game will probably go to whoever makes the fewest mistakes.

Excerpt:
"Everyone in USA A#2 knew what to expect going in to this game. The 5-0 Ft. Campbell Rangers would continue their streak of dominating wins by trouncing the 2-3 Las Vegas Outlaws in their own building."
