I would like to do a DE and a CB.

I'm highly debating throwing a FS in on this. Maybe an O-line guy too.

Hey fellas, bad news, but Border put the finishing touches on our roster earlier today.

I hate to leave you two guys out, so maybe you can strike a deal with Border. He made a CB FS and WR. I'm sure he would help accomodate you.

Ah ok. Border, if you want to retire one of them, let me know, if not, thats cool too.

I will retire one if someone else wants to play...

I just did the same thing with my buddy Xman..We started a team from LVL 1, like this, and I did all of Offense..

Let me know if you wanna do the CB and/or FS...I will be happy with my Speedster WR..

I am just here to cause drama anyway..LOL

The most fun with this seems to be the first 4 seasons. Building. Winning. Advancing.
After that, it's too business-like. Screw that. I like the fun part of the first 4 seasons better.
Agents get to build new players. Owners get to build new stadiums. The fun is recycled, and because we're retiring players, we won't have to spend nearly as much FP "Keeping up with the Joneses" to compete.

I agree, after your player gets to around level 25-30 the game just seems to slow down as an agent. Once the stadium is complete it's pretty much autopilot for the team owner, except for trying to sign free agents. Maybe down the line there will be stadium improvements, like buying a dome or adding a new jumbotron.

Saying that, I'm hoping to keep the Lions together for a while. I've signed on as owner through Season 9 and as long as I can keep a good part of the team together (and as long as we can keep winning a few games) I'll stay around.

lol jumbotron.

iF you're a coordinator L40 is where it is most fun in some ways. You've gone through a lot of promotion/demotion so you have even competition (like A5, but not everybody is like A5). Really bad builds start to catch up by L40. Really bad stadium building starts to catch up. In some cases, your team's builds are finally balanced so you can try either run/pass or blitz/zone - and same with the opponent. It's not all bad - if you like parity that is. L13-30 has more build emphasis, L40 has more scheme/gameplanning emphasis.

L40 becomes more challenging for FA's though since ppl lose interest in the game. Replacing a L40 is much harder than replacing a L13.

lvl 40 is where it's at. I think players are totally boring until lvl 32

So, I'm getting the itch to own a real team. I wanted to test the waters to see what interest, if any, there is for a slow build team owned by me. It would be a long term project designed to have us competing at the highest possible level at the ends of our careers. Here's the gist.

Team Plan: Train intense when applicable.
Season 7
- Super-slow build.
- Get cash from 6YP
- Get cut asap to save 6YP cash. . Train top two attributes.
- Dummy Team Owner gets on waitlist for a team.
Season 8
- Dummy Team Owner purchases a dummy team.
- All players sign to day40-ending contracts on dummy team.
- Slow-build on that team.
- Real Team Owner gets on waitlist for a team in a currently nonexistent league.
Season 9
- Real Team Owner signs all players released from dummy team.
- Dummy Team Owner returns team back to GLB and joins real team.

I've already got two people willing to be the "dummy team" owner, in case someone falls through. The goal would be to be level 13 with 3 boosts left at the end of season 8 and field a team in a capped league season 9.

I'd be running the show on defense, and will talk to lonewolf about offense. I'm not sure how interested he is, so if someone is really gung ho about taking on that challenge, let me know. The only things I ask are that you be a booster/CE buyer and that you buy into our team "philosophy" as far as builds go. No, I would not (nor would I allow my OC) to try and dictate builds, but I would ask that you be mindful of what we have in mind. If you'd like to be on defense, I don't need LBs and you should start training agility and spew unless you're a DT.

I would really love it if you are interested to want to make more than one player. They don't have to be the same position or even the same side of the ball, but I would like to make this more of a tight knit community and I think it's more easily achievable with maybe 10-20 guys.

I'm sorry if this pisses anyone off (my posting it here). If you're interested, PM me so this thread eventually bumps off the front page. If there is significant interest (ie:commits for 12-15 players) in the next couple of days, I'll get a private forum.

Cheers,

Bleeds

Just because Bleeds and I love each other so much, I just want to ring in that this is cheezy as all hell.

It doesn't piss me off, it just proves that you really dislike competition.

Same goes for anyone else following this model of cheeziness.

How's it cheezy? He's actually recruiting other players that buys into the idea? It's not like he's making a team out of all of his own players? Now that's a cheezy idea....

It's not about disliking competition either, it's about playing within the rules of the game and setting it up to play in your favor as much as you can.

Just because it's being done like this doesn't guarantee wins either.
