I just disagree with knocking the Maulers for our game. Looking at our scrimmage (where I had the new segments of my AI being tested) against the game should indicate that maybe we just stepped up on defense. Our woes on offense are directly attributable to their amazing DEs. Both defenses came ready to play.
I don't understand the use of the word "instead" when saying we were close enough to be competitive and instead combined for xxx yards. Low scoring = not competitive?
/sigh. Offense does sell tickets, that's the saying, anyway. This is no different than the BCS mentality as well.
Thanks for responding, though. And I promise, my feelings are not hurt and I don't think you're an idiot. Just talking dotball.
Cheers to you as well. Thanks for giving us something to talk about.
You never did explain the joke, though.
In RL football low scoring and yard totals would not indicate poor competition. However, here in GLB it does.
Take the CPU Cows team.
They played the Roughriders and were a 12 point team rating dog. The Cows managed a better yards per play average than the Maulers did. Nearly double yards per pass and just 50 fewer total yards of offense.
The Cows lost 118-7.
GLB is
made for offense.
I don't take pre-season in to account, as I also use that time to BS gameplans. However just for kicks. If the Maulers were to replay the game they had with College last game, it would take them 2.7 games to equal the yard total they had in the preseason.
Look, I am not passing judgment on the leadership, agents, players or builds of either team. I am just writing a silly rankings post based on what I see on my LCD. Numbers. Unfortunately for both teams those numbers were bad. Very bad.
Joke: Was alluding the assertion that the Maulers must have played so badly as to have not actually even gained (or earned) that sum of yards. Hey, no one said a joke had to be a good joke.
Anyways, its just for fun, however completely and utterly not fun atm.
Cheers!
