Legionaires are still Legionaires, still in Africa Pro. So that's five of the original Elephant Conference sixteen. West Coast Warriors are battling in USA AAA, Tangiers Cape Buffalo are lurking in Africa A. The rest are under new ownership, none in Africa Pro.
Durban Donkeys won't be sticking around after this season, either relegating or selling the team back.
*shrugs*
APL has changed from the time it was started. We've seen many teams come up winners, proud and and confident. Some live up to their own expectations, others don't.
Unlike the teams that promote up here, those of us who were originally dropped here have less to measure our progress. Those promoting up have trophies, or the excitement of promoting into a new league. Even those who relegate have a sense of hope, or at least a chance to reorganize, and be more competitive in their new leagues.
I've seen teams come in. Some live up to their talk, and get respect for it, such as Gunfighters and Corsairs. Others fade after finding that Africa Pro is not what they hoped for, such as GRI, or Zambia Zombies, or for more amusement, Fight Club and their quick two game collapse. Others talk, and never even make it here, like Somalia Wasps and the BBE v2. Every season, the cycle repeats itself.
To be honest, I'm bored of it after 4 seasons of this, and this season will probably be no different.
Thanks. You put it better than I did.
I think the fact we are still surviving here is something remarkable. Others may not understand or don't give it a damn, but original owners like you, SheVegas, and myself can fully understand.
However, I'm bored, too.
