That is very true! When i took over the Belfast Brawlers before season 6 there were no upgrades done to the stadium and the team was shelled. And now it looks like we will be able to add on atleast 3 sections to the stadium and we have a very good group of guys on the team that are wanting to help out and build a good solid franchise. I really think that if we can just get a few more pieces to the puzzle we could make some noise.

It can be done but honestly you do not need playoff money to build stadium (it helps yes) but setting a goal to get demoted is against the point of competition.

Goal isn't to get demoted. We went 10-6. Financially, it would help to be in BBB.

Newcastle stadium, built without ever hosting a playoff game (hosted our first one ever yesterday):

You have to invest early and often into the stadium, and be responsible with your money the rest of the time (i.e. don't go overboard with high dollar trades).

I don't know how long you've owned that team, but they started in Season 2. This league was created in Season 3 along with most of the teams in it, giving your club a one season advantage. There's really no excuse for that stadium to be so under-developed. Also, I don't think Bort will allow you to move down to BBB, who will be entering a 21 capped season most likely, especially considering your record and current roster.

I picked up the team in season 4 I believe. I inherited the maximum debt and a stadium that hadn't been touched. I'd estimate 80% of the players on the team have been there from day one.

Join the club, all of us have battled to get our stadium going, heck I've done all I have this season with only having the 1st level of the stadium done. A season like this helps because I already have money for the 2 sidelines of section 2, and looking to get a third built soon.

Tell your players to sign minimum contracts and that your need the money for upgrading the stadium. Once you have your knee deep in money, give them money for being loyal.

Newcastle is an excellent blueprint of how to build a franchise from the ground; we learned by watching them.
Now if only we could borrow a couple million from them...

Actually this was the first year that we (VC ANgels) went NUTS on spending money on players.
This is why,
We saw that we would make enough money to cover, but tightly
We have 95% of our team now signed to season 8, which means for next season we wont have to worry too much bringig on talent.

If we get deep enough in the play-offs and can make a few more upgrades then by the end of next season we should be able to have enough to really have a surplus.

We chose to do all this year for 2 reasons
1) we thought we had a legitimate chance to make the play-offs this season
2) if we were to get deep enough into the play-offs (refer win it all) we would get promoted and next year is going to be rough being promoted to AA, who knows if we would make the play-offs next season, so we had to do our main investing now.

The trade off is I think we have some serious great build guys (thats why we were able to beat a lot of higher lev teams this year)

Trust me unless we win it all this year in a way I wish we could stay in A with you guys.

But god I am not looking forward to playing Valencia or Kilkernny for that matter or what ever Alpha team makes it.

Well I dont know if some of our Belgrade Bulldogs have been coming here reading these posts...but it looks like alot of players are saying they will hold out on upgrades...which should help us financially.....
