I would be all for either way really. If the 2-3 voters from each team would be honest it would be cool. If you decide to do it along with a little write up then that would be cool as well.

you could use a 3rd party site to set up a voting poll...come up with a certain amount of players for each position and then let owners click the link and vote. it would be easier at least.

If it included Lion, it should be as two separate teams. Lion Allstars and Elephant Allstars.
Also suggest instead of limiting it to 3 GMs per team, allow each team to decide how they want to do it via internal voting. Would mean less work for you. I'd also suggest do it Starter and two backups per position. Special teams excluded, or at least limited to returner.
