I'd rather lose every game from here on out if I knew the sim AI would be nice to us in the postseason. We aren't changing our team mentality just because of one game. We didn't overlook Tana so I wouldn't call today's game a wakeup call.

not a wakeup call from an "overlooked them"... moreso, a call to let you know what others may try, including the playoffs... obviously, its the only approach that's worked against you thus far, right... someone may be bound to copy cat it..

Yeah I agree with that assessment. I'm glad Tana pulled it on us now. It helped us more than winning the game would have.

That may have been a boring game to watch, but the box score was kind of funny. Tana River attempted 3 passes the whole game. One of them resulted in a sack and the other two were completions. San Diego, on the other hand, only ran 32 plays all game. Tana River may have found the right offensive strategy to combat SD's incredible pressure, but it was holding down SD's offense that was the other key to that victory.

Yea definitely. A great gameplan by Tana, but probably one that was best to save for playoffs IMO. Good job guys, you stopped our offense and held the ball, it was a good plan. I expected more pass so i didnt load up to stop the run.
Good luck the rest fo the way and maybe we will see ya in the playoffs if ya make it!

Yea but you have to get a ton of good breaks for Tanas plan to work. If our offense comes out on point as usual, their plan is a loser because we'd put up some points and their running the ball from behind. Their D got a couple key stops and it was enough to tip the balance.
Definitely a great gameplan but like I said, they blew their load to hand us a regular season loss when their best bet was to probably save it for the playoffs.

We want to win every game we play ofcourse, btu a perfect regular season means 0 to the team and the players in the forum. A perfect season ends with a championship. We have first place still, even thats not a big deal, but we appreciate the gut-check. I wouldve liked to knock Tana out of the playoffs completely since their just as capable as anyone at winning a championship a la Bugeaters. Got their asses kicked all regular season and turned it on for the playoffs.

We don't mind losing regular season games. I'd say GG, but honestly anyone with a decent O Line and FB could run the ball 4 downs in a row and get a 1st down. That was the most boring game I have ever watched.

Well, we don't have a FB.

When you run I-formation every play you don't need a true FB. All the "player in the FB position" has to do is run into someone and they are blocked long enough to help the HB out. Eventually it will wear the opposing Defense down so much that it will become easier. Especially if you run all 4 downs like you guys did.

With our O Line and FB we could rush 100% I-form and never lose. It's not that hard, but it is boring.

Regardless, I'm proud of our Run D for holding you guys to a 3.5 YPC average even though your team felt they needed to gimmick us to win.

Come on man. If you had a good D set up for the I formation it can be stopped. My team ran 100% off-tackle last game and lost.

In the end this game is going to help your team a ton. It is kind of sad to here you make an excuse and not just say Good game. I know it sucks to lose, but you have to admit defeat when you lose.

The reason you couldn't put up points is because we sat on the ball. That was the whole plan. Your offense can score fast and often. The only way to slow it down is to run. I'm the one who set up the AI, I only ran off-tackle because that is your teams worst formation IMO. I saw other teams get 4 yards a carry each time so I figured we'd go for it.

As for holding it for the playoffs, you never know when this offense will show up again. Right now the Ewoks are in the playoffs in the sense that if we lose any more games we may miss them.

Fuck it. I'm not about to get into an argument about the redundant I-formation play. There are plenty of threads on it already.

Congrats on your win.

If you look at anyones #'s against different formations, 85% of all teams have their worst #'s defending the strong-i OT run, lol thats no suprise to anyone.
We just arent desperate to win games here, were in the playoffs, we got a home game or two locked up so its all a moot point which is why I treat it as one.

Not sure why you feel the need to take up arms here, you responded to my post as if I dont understand why the plan worked? lol Any idiot who actually saw the game could tell we didnt put points up cuz we never had the ball...And still lost by 2. lol

Very happy with defense, we will take that YPC anyday!! No sweat guys, let it go
Playoffs are commin!

edit- wait did you say 'EWOKS' and 'we'? LMAOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow! thats awesome man grats!

I dont think you guys will use that offense again. I mean, the cats out of the bag so thats it for that. Very ballsy, but again, like you said, its not an offense you use unless theres nothing else that will work. Nothing else will or wouldve worked, you can tell by the mere 2 point spread. haha

Were saving our load for the playoffs, I dont blame Tana for going all out here, it was a good call theyll prolly be one and done anyway ya know? Maybe you can help them turn it around, I cant blame Tyante for looking for help, they been stinkin it up.

We didn't run an all-out I form there did we? You guys act like we have gotten all our wins this way. We didn't "let the cat outta the bag". We 'pulled' him out for a much needed win. We gameplan and set up different offenses each week just like you do.

You guys say that a perfect 16-0 doesn't mean anything and this and that, but you sure do get awful upset with that one loss. You can hold up that false front, but we all know you are crying inside. It shows with all your tears that have leaked onto the forums.

You guys may beat us in the playoffs, or we may not even get to you. Or you may lose to someone else. Who knows? Either way, quit dwelling on one gameplan and acting like we cheated or did something against the spirit of the game. We do what we have to for the win. Same as you all would do if you were overmatched.

I respect you guys and like your team. I see no need for that to have to end over one game.

Murgy- You should probably spend less time in our (west conference) business and more time coming up with a plan to help those two 2-11 teams you own and GM. No one on the Ewoks really cares about your 'respect'.

Feel free to go 100% pass. You'd lose. There's a reason teams go 100% I-Form when they know they can't win any other way...it's overpowered.

There's nothing wrong with our D. We held you to 3.5 YPC and you went for it on just about every 4th down. Like I said before, any team with a halfway decent O Line, FB, and HB has a great shot at winning any game if they go 100% I-form and don't fumble the ball once.
