DE: 10 sacks came in a game where you outleveled the team by at least 5-7 levels. The others all came in blowout games where you score 40 or more than the opponent.
0 sacks in 4 games that were even remotely close.

HB: 85 carries for 448.5yds (5.2yd average) in 4 close games.

OT: 29 pancakes in those same 4 games.

I like the Pro-Bowl idea but I doubt it'll be a team that really represents the players that played at the highest level.

On almost all positions, starters from very strong teams will run up better numbers than starters from mediocre or low level teams.

The only stats that might favour lower ranked teams is the number of tackles (but if you also take missed ones into account, those guys will disappear pretty fast), punt yards (same here if you also count the yds per punt) and kick return total-yards (eliminated by the yds per punt as well)

The again there might be some backups in very strong teams (like QB or HB) who are almost as good as the starter and they won't have a chance for the pro bowl because they share playtime and their numbers are much lower than those of some other players that do not share their position as often.

Giving each owner the possibility to nominate a fixed number of his players (for example 1 QB, 1 FB, 2 HB, 1 TE, 2 WR, 2 OL, 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB, 1 K, 1 P, 1 ST/R...) for the voting and then vote would help a bit but by looking at who is active here in the forums, some teams wouldn't get a single vote while the players from teams with more than 2-3 active forum posters would make the team automatically.

So I won't make any suggestions because I don't think the result of the voting will be close to what the real pro bowl team should look like.

good point dj. but following your argument. for example for the DE, other teams had played that particular low level team too but nobody got close to 10 sacks. he's in the league leaders for sacks with 18 over-all. hmm should we look at league leaders in stats for pro bowl candidates?

True that. It would be hard, but it's something that can be fun and get the activity level up. We could do something where you look at the 5 or however many closest games and see the stats, and not count the 255-0 games..

I would have to nominate my RB. Say what you want about him, but he is a big part of the assassins success. Yes, we have a good team, a good line, blah blah. But he's the league leader in yards, ypg, and FUMBLES!!

Lets see what the stats are at the end of the season. I have a feeling One of if not both of The Carnages HB will have better stats. But again its not all about stats.

He also has the most carries on the season. If my HB had the same amount of carries as yours he'd have 3,217.5 yards.

That's a wonderful assumption you have made there...Ask your coach to change it so you get that many carries. I guarantee you won't have the same yards per carry. I have done the math. My last 10-15 carries throughout the season have averaged about 4.5 to 5 ypc because...take a guess...ok times up. Energy. If I had as few carries as your back, I would have the same yards per carry. Check out a couple of the games, you'll see.

I beg you to try and carry the ball 35-40 times a game, I would love to see the outcome (that wasn't sarcasm, I would truly like to see what happens).
