When you're in Canadian BBB and the levels are low, no D.E's are getting through really. Agility has just been discovered (last season? im sure some guys knew a long, just didn't share)as being good for an o-linemen. so where you came up with this bullshit I don't know. I see some Tackles with 80+ agility in the Pros they are unpassable, period.

LOL.

Last year, I played in USA 10 when you had 90+ Agility, and my teammates and other opponents' O-line had around 30 Agility and you sure has hell didn't impress anyone, so lay off of the 'Season 7 Canada BBB low level' bullshit. I know a bunch of the guys still don't have Agility jacked up this year and they're managing.

Besides, calling someone' post bullshit after your ignorant comment is laughable.

Last season your QB was sacked 28 times and hurried who knows how many times on a team that was relegated from A to BBB. Congrats! This season you aren't getting blasted by bottom of the barrel teams.

Guys with high str, high blocking and high agility dish out the pancakes. If you don't have high agility you can't hold a block long enough to get a pancake. Look at any of my OLs and tell me how much they have in the Pancake SA combined. I can give you a hint, you won't need all your fingers!

Can I just ask people's opinions of whether it is worth putting equipment towards agility to push it into the 80s (assume it is at 68 raw, with maybe +4 from VAs), for

1) Guards
2) Tackles

At the moment for my G I am going to boost agility with SPs and VAs into the mid 70s and leave it there. It is currently around 65.

I prefer to put equipment towards Blocking rather than agility. Is this the common consensus for the two positions?

mandyross, I'd say that's plenty. In fact, you have to be careful to have too much agility for your speed, in that if you can accelerate instantly to your top speed (and your top speed is slow as a snail) you aren't making good use of your agility.

All of my guys are in the high 60's and low 70's and seem to be doing well. You don't need to have the agility to match the DL, just enough to keep them contained in passing situations and hold a block on a run play.

Sounds fine to me!

Some of the posts in this thread made me think I need agility at 100 or so. Good to hear that's not the case.

The next question to follow logically out from your post is:

Which Agility:Speed ratio is considered to be "too much"? If I have 75 Agility, what speed do I need to really take advantage of this? Can I get away with 50 or is that too low?

It's HUGE!

Agility is used in part to determine the break/hold tackle as well as for getting around/staying in front of your opponent.

A very agile pass rusher is gonna be able to break a block and then get around the outside. However, against an agile pass blocker, he'll have a tougher time breaking the block and getting around the blocker.

Ok this is only partially correct. Agility for the OL has nothing to do with their ability to hold the block, it only effects their ability to stay in front of the defender.

Agility is built into the equation for defenders breaking a block, and lineman need blocking to counter high agility.

Does this make sense? Agility- used to break blocks for defenders, but is not used in the ability for lineman to hold blocks. Blocking for lineman counteracts the defender's ability to utilize his agility for block breaking.
