Texas Tech is looking like they'll retain Leach as well. Tennessee's leading candidate from all I hear right now is Brian Kelly out of Cincinnati.

Tech is such a great job just because its in the state of Texas. Best recruiting grounds in the US and the b12 is a respectable conference in its own right. If Tech can match any other offers he recieves finacially (which I expect them to do as the current athletic head forked out for Bob Knight) then why wouldnt he stay?

Brian Kelly is a great coach as well, but I personally wouldnt want to move into the SEC. To much pressure and way to competitive. While it might be the 'top' of the coaching ladder it just seems like a dead end job to me.

Give me some money Robb. Need any graphic work done lol. I wish I lived on the east coast. Working on New England elementary school history papers now. God that place is so much better than fucking Utah.

Texas is great because we are pretty much isolated from any effects of the current economic state of America. If Texas was its own country, we would have the 6th highest GDP in the world (note: California would be #3). Life is pretty affordable down here.

Which is why I hate Texas... the girlfriend and I have seriously contemplated moving there.

If you live in Austin it is cool but rest of the state could be swallowed up by a black hole and it wouldn't exactly be a bad thing.

I think the rest of the state would disagree with that statement. While I love Austin it is definately the odd ball in Texas. Very east coast like, very liberal, and very free spirited. Traffic in Austin is a nightmare too. Different strokes for different folks.

All I know is... I know a couple that lives in Houston that just bought a house for $140k that would have easily gone for AT LEAST $300k here in Charlotte. Fucking gay. Charlotte sucks... why are people paying that much for houses out here?

Houston is crap. Dallas is ok. San Antonio is nice, Austin is the best and everything else is basically small town shit.

Waco - nobody wants to live there anyway

No shit... most of my girlfriends mothers side of the family live in the DC area. Fuck that shit... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too expensive.

I'm living in a town home with my girlfriend at the moment and it's valued at ~$102k I believe. I can't imagine what it would cost for one in Texas. They probably just give 'em away down there.

Haha thats not accurate at all but ill let it slide. Texas has quite a few other large towns. Houston definately is crap but I probably shouldnt delve into the facts. Dallas by itself isnt much but when you start grouping in all of the suburbs its a pretty nice place. Fort Worth on the other hand is amazing as are its set of suburbs. San Antonio has its parts, but being born and raised here I have to label it crap. I could never live in Austin, but it certainly makes for a great friday night.

Try living in California, I have an Uncle move back from the San Jose area and he was able to go from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2800 sq foot house here. His rent out there for the apartment was $1600 a month and that was for a lower end unit. The exact house that he bought for ~200k in San Antonio would have been going for 1.2-1.5 million in Cali.

a few years back i paid 179K for my town home, now it was worth almost 300K but with the market it is back down to like 250K

Texas doesn't have townhomes, they all live in trailers

Try this one out. I bought a 2 bedroom condo in las vegas nevada for a whopping 69,000 dollars. I lived in southern california for 9 months. Oxnard, Ca... Me and my roommate were splitting rent and we were both paying 700 dollars month. TE RENT A FUCKING APARTMENT! My current mortgage on my condo isn't even 500 dollars a month...

Wow, nice G. I was in Vegas two weeks ago and the strip seems to have been hit pretty hard by the recent economic situation. Ive heard they cut back significantly on the workers they had building the city walk, and completely halted the construction on the new casino going in where the Stardust used to be. Not sure what actual Las Vegas is likes but it sounds like youve got yourself a decent set up now though.

And Robb, way to live up to false stereotypes!
