Hey guys. I'm the Chicago Thunder owner. I've never contributed much to the league forum, but will try to get to know everybody.

IMO, the teabaggers are a little underrated here.

Skers, really. I understand trying to fly under the radar, but comeon! You just beat us pretty convincingly. If not for a 74 yard TD in the second half the score would not have been close.

Top 2 teams in the west right now are Tuscon and Omaha. To be honest I think it should look like this:

1) Omaha
1) Tuscon
3) Reno ( Unbeaten but untested )
4) San Diego ( Lost to the only top tier team we have played )

You look at it as "If not for a 74 yard TD in the second half the score would not have been close". I look at it as "If not for a safety and a late FG in the 4th Quarter, then the score would have been 17-14". Either way we would have won, but IMO our teams are very closely matched.

I would say the same about Reno, but give them the edge. We beat them in BBB14 reg season last year but that was prior to them boosting. Come playoff time after both teams had boosted they worked us pretty good. I know it's a new league this year for both of us. However, their team is still pretty much intact. I give them the edge based off the fact that they won the last head to head matchup.

I don't know Tucson very well. From the looks of it though, they're another tough team. They beat the Bruins by 51, RGB by 14, Teabaggers by 52, Maulers by 10, and Rangers by 14. Those are solid wins against quality opponents. I think they're clearly the #1 team at this point.

Some of my posts are sarcastic in trying to fly under the radar. However, some of it has merit that we still have a lot to prove in this league. Just my two cents (or was this more four cents???).

Don't read too much into the 51 point loss we had to Tuscan, they're definitely a good team, but there were a lot of factors that made them 51 points better that particular game. If we played a second game now, it'd be much closer... not saying that we'd win or anything, but we wouldn't give up 12 sacks and get blown out by 51.

Anyways, they're a very good team and I'd agree that they're either #1 or #2 in the West. I'd lean towards them being #1 though. Merely because Omaha scrapped out a single point win over Carolina and we just beat Carolina by 8. It isn't extremely accurate because we didn't really play Tuscan to our capabilities, but it's all we have to work with atm.

Honestly, we aren't really sure where we are at this point, either. In season 4 we spent almost the entire season tweaking, testing, and saving our boosts until two games before the playoffs. We went on a tear in the playoffs, avenging regular season losses including an impressive win over an undefeated Tallahassee squad that hammered us in the regular season. We finished the season 16-4 and got our trophies.

Last season, our first in A7, we went 8-9 for our first losing season in franchise history. Five of those losses were by a total of 15 points, so we performed well below expectations and in the offseason we added one guard. Outside of that, we're the same team we were before. We've made changes in tactics and our chemistry is improved.

I'm the DC, so I'm biased, but defense has always been the strength at Tucson, even before I got there. But this season our offense has started clicking more than before and we're feeling pretty good. I don't know what to make of our wins over Tallahassee & Chicago. Anchorage is always a slugfest and we *owed* Buffalo from their win over us last season.

On paper, I think Omaha is the best in the conference and San Diego is #2. I haven't studied Reno very much. Anchorage is solid and has the best coach in the conference imo. Tallahassee is performing well below where they are capable of... as is Grand Haven. Everyone else is pretty equal I think until you get to the gut jobs and rebuilds.

I don't think we're #1, but I don't know that anyone could claim that yet. I think there are six or seven teams that can win it all and I think we've played well enough to date to be included in that group.

Ha! I've seen both Tuscan and Tuscon mentioned in this thread. I was beginning to think I was spelling Tucson incorrectly or at least talking about the wrong team...

P.S. Does that mean Omaha won't see a blitz package from you guys when we play???

Bring it, I'm feeling a lot better about our protection now. We have a new blocking FB and a second FB playing power back, since we played you anyways. Have fun trying to get through 5 OL and 2 FBs
