bruiser, if I were doing this I would remove the results of the cross-conference games as they tend to really throw off the numbers.

The biggest issue right now in Zeta is who has played Downtown and who hasn't. Both Myanmar and Semarang have have posted 255-0 wins. In Myanmar's case, they actual dropped 349 points on Downtown...and Myanmar won't repeat that offensive performance again this season. Point is, those games will skew the results for a long time.

I also think a score must have been incorrectly entered for the Tibetan Black Dragons, as even scoring 350 points a game wouldn't add up to even 6,000 points in a season. Further, they haven't scored 100 points combined this season.

All of this being said, there is absolutely no harm in posting this stuff. Just understand it, and take it for what it's worth. Myanmar always seems to lose a stray game each season...last year to Semerang, the year before to Fort Worth. These are just fun talking points, so use them as such!

of course after 2 games the huge blowout games will skew the numbers majorly. which is why a disclaimer has to be posted saying that the true numbers won't really come into focus around the 8-10th set of games.

and don't believe there's a way to alter the spreadsheet to remove the cross-conference games. but yes, that cross conference game throws all the numbers down the tubes, always kind of funny to have either both teams winning or losing by different point differentials.

You just don't enter the scores, and they won't be included in the averages.

Nothing was entered wrong, there are a few games in there were teams are predicted over 1000 - 0 right now

When I took them out, it got MUCH worse for predictions. Montville predicted 402 - 44 against us, Singapore Buddhists 536 - Taiwan Dragons 192

I was going to post another set w/o the cross-conference games in there, but its much worse

Groucho ran it the past couple years for SEA #3. If you use the base spreadsheet and just don't enter anything for game 16 the figures should end up being fairly accurate.

Cross-conference games are week 1 now, not week 16. It does not work as well anymore

I ran it for two seasons, and know exactly how it works. But thanks for your input.

The formula only calculates based on the data points you provide. So if you leave off a particular game, it will not get calculated.

Yeah, but when I took out the cross-conference games, the projections were WAY off
