I majored in Engineering, have a Masters in System Engineering, and now make a hell of a lot of money. It is because of the teachers I had when I went through junior high school, and High school who convinced me that I should do everything I could to go to college. I am the first person in my family to graduate from college, and it is because my history, math and science teachers caught my attention and got me to want more. My parents were not well off, and I ended up paying for almost all of my college through work, loans, and scholarships.

It's too bad people don't understand in school what their teachers are doing for them, maybe they'd get a bit of respect instead of scorn.

Next I want to call out Clinton Esquire. Your continued ranting about teachers and the education system is uncalled for. I find it very offensive that you would call out such a noble profession, such as teaching. I am not going to insult you or call you names. That would be sinking to your level. I AM a teacher. I LOVE my job. I make a difference in this world. Without teachers there would be NOTHING in this world. I work my ass off to make a difference in the lives of children. Then when I am done I go and work my second job waiting tables so I can support my family. Teachers get paid jack shit, but that does not bother us. We do it to be able to make a difference in the world we live in. I am satisfied knowing that I have the ability to change someone's life, and make it better for them. I am sure you have some hot shot job where you make tons of money, and are KING SHIT OF FART MOUNTAIN. The one thing that you will never understand is why teachers do what they do. We don't do it for the fame, money, recognition, or praise. We do it because we care and if we can make a difference in that one kid's life it would be all worth it. I work with special needs children. Do you know anyone that has special needs? Do you have any idea what those families and teachers sacrifice to make that child have a better life? I will admit that yes there are some idiot teachers that are not in it for the right reasons. Yes there are bad teachers. Name me one profession in the world that does not have their bad apples. For your to come out in public and make such ignorant statements is beyond comprehension for me. I know what I do. I know I do it well. I know I have made a difference in the lives of the children I have taught. So please, by all means, continue on your hate filled rant about me and my profession. It only gives me motivation to reach out to the next YOU. Then I can make a difference in their life so that they DON'T turn into the hate filled person that you have become. Either way I am comfortable with who I am and what I do.
