Well, judging by that scrimmage, I dont think the best football in AA2 is played anywhere near Boston.

Did you watch the game or are you just saying stuff because of the score?

(Gets ready for the 'WE WERE TRYING SOMETHING DIFFERENT' excuse)

No, actually, since there is an entire new playbook we tried something different each quarter. I assume that is what most smart teams are doing. So, for example, you can see we ran the ball only in Q1 (8.5 YPC BTW), but mostly we tried out each type of passing plays for each quarter. Now I can do an analysis and isolate the outcomes of each play.
Now I would love to hear that other teams are doing that, but then again, I would rather hear that you are either A) just ignoring the game because it is just a scrimmage, or B) running the same shit you ran last season. If either of those are the case your team will probably not have an opportunity to perform to it's full potential.
On defense we tried different blitzes vrs the new plays to see what worked and what left holes. Clearly the run blitzes of last season are not effective anymore since you used to be able to isolate plays based on formation, but that is no longer possible with several more plays from each formation.
So, no, we were not trying to win the game, but yes we were trying to learn what works and what doesn't. I am happy to be 1 step closer to being ready for game 1. So although I think we may be outmatched in many games I plan on doing the best to make sure that we are at least giving ourselves the best chance to win. Given all the talk here on this thread it sucks to lose by a couple scores, but ultimately I will happily trade that for a chance to win later on.
Now here is the question for you; are you ready for game 1?
