Wow...
The Heat
NITES
Sharks
MTD
Gods
yearly seem to get no love in polls...other than the coaches poll
until someone shows me that they can overtake the The Heat, Nites, MTD, and Sharks and stop them from getting deep in the playoffs, They will continue to be at the top of my rankings in Zeta. These lists are great, they bring about conversation. I guess Im one that respects many teams past performances, and I expect them to do it again, until proven wrong. No matter what their offseason was like.
MTD had a GREAT offseason so for them to be ranked 22 is mind boggling.
The Heat and Sharks owned Zeta in the regular season last year.
The NITES have won the Zeta crown 4 years in a row.
The GODS always make the playoffs.
IC loaded up this season.
IMO there are teams that are really dissed with their history in some of these polls. I like that you went out on a limb though. I just think preseason polls have to take history into account.
Alphas top 3 are easy to predict:
1. MM (the champs)
2. Scranton (deep run last year and has proven themselves out of OPL)
3. TITs
The Heat
NITES

I think everyone in Zeta is a bullseye target at this point.

Steeler is right on the money imo.
Particularly when it comes to Banzai, you can't pick anyone in Zeta over them imo.
Also, I love this write ups, you are a great owner Comic and I think at this point Saipan is everyones second favorite team.

Yeah the 'Nites are amazing every year. The one thing is, this year Zeta is so tough that we're going to have like 12 teams in contention for the playoffs. The 'Nites will probably make the playoffs the same way they did last year, but surprise everyone and win Zeta.

I have MTD ahead of the 'Nites right now on the basis of what they've done in the offseason. Barely ahead, but IMO they've done enough to make themselves the top gun in Zeta.

Well Saipan Fighter fans it's that time again. The preseason games are over and it is time to move into the battle zone. Regular season in the Zeta Conference of the Oceania Pro League looks to be a zinger. All teams are evenly matched and there are going to be some great games upcoming in season six. Many of the great owners are shocked at some of the preseason polls and where they show them at the end of the season. This has really motivated all owners to step up their studies of their opponents to make sure they are ready each game.
Saipan will be facing the Brantford Mustangs and probably one of the toughest games they will have all season right off the bat. The Mustangs look to win at least 13 games this season as they seem to almost overpower everyone in the Alpha Conference. In both preseason games the Mustangs threw for over 400 yards in their nasty passing attack. They did not showcase their talent in the running game during the preseason, so watch out for some surprises come game time each week. Rusty Nugget looks to break some records this season in the passing game while Robo Jackson gives him the need ground support to open his passing game up. Linebacker Comin' Togetcha is geared up and has his defense ready to give some offenses a very difficult time all season long. Be warned Alpha Conference, the Mustangs are looking to stampede the competition this season.
As far as the Saipan Fighters, well they seem to have worked things out with the probation officer of Crazy Eyes and he will be able to attend the away games. With out Eyes in the away games the Saipan passing game might have faltered, so it is a great thing to have worked out. Things did not work out for Jay Finn though. Child support will drain almost fifty percent of Finn's seasonal income and he may end up cleaning jock straps under the table. It looks like the other problem child of Saipan, Mini Baig, is hitting the bottle way to much. Baig is constantly missing practice and team meetings, look to see him on the bench most of the season.
It is rumored that the owner, comicfanman, will be announcing team captains tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what happens with the added talent this season and the returning starters. Who will get the nod to lead the team this season? Stay tuned.....
