My question to those who are announcing this now: why not 3 days ago when massive relegation/promotion could've equalized things?

Can't speak for anyone else, but in our case some key players asked to be released in the past two days, and that made the situation more immediate than we were planning, since our depth wasn't spectacular to begin with.

That's kind of what I thought. Its too bad . . . although I totally understand how it happens and who, considering the market, it would be nearly impossible to continue in competitive manner.

IC is committed to Season 6 at the very least, and season 7 if my RL issues get sorted out... but I may need some help early this season with the DC position.
Beyond that I really do not know at this point, although my original intentions when I joined the ownership part of the game were for 10 seasons.

Basically we lost 5 starters and these were people who were much more willing to split snaps than some new FAs that we'd bring in off the street, even if we could since I'm no good at recruiting.

Then one of our key players decided he couldn't continue sinking $$ into this game and was going to retire 4 of his 5 guys to get the flex points to maintain one of his guys for the foreseeable future. Totally understandable.

After that 48 hour lovefest I realized that the best I could possibly pull off recruiting-wise for this season was that MAYBE we'd plug some of the holes, but progress was a pipedream and we're already behind the 8 ball when it comes to being competitive against teams featuring better builds as it is.

Also now I can post here without making BradyFTW feel embarrassed to be associated with me.

basically fnord decided to rebuild the team because he knew Samoa would be up here this year and he feared having to face us in a championship game
