I'll be honest here and take the fall when I say we overlooked your offense. Both myself and YardDog talked on a ventrilo server trying to figure out how to stop ourselves from getting sacked 14 times and how to move the ball against your defense. We effectively did that using what we thought would work best while scouting y'all.
I'll man up and say exactly what came out of my mouth on the vent server. "Alpine really isn't that good, they're just where they are because of Julius Dee. They just play all that 4-3 with their safeties back not blitzing anyone. They aren't that great. If we score 28 points, we're going to win."
We'll...Julius Dee had just 2 sacks which were his only tackles of the game. On top of that we were only hurried once. If you had told me before the game that we would hold the Alpine d-line to just 3 sacks and 1 hurry, I would of assumed we'd won.
The entire game y'all punted once. Time and time again you converted on 3rd down.
The INT return TD and the missed exp certainly hurt, but I'm not going to blame those for the loss. I blame myself for overlooking Alpine's offense. You guys deserve to be representing the Alpha Conference of USA A#7 and I wish everyone the best of luck in whatever league you get thrown into. Your big wins against Battle Creek and Rutgers might be enough to propel you into USA AAA (there are currently 5 CPU teams in USA AAA).
Once again, best of luck, I have no doubt in my mind that you'll do us proud against Spicewood.
