Cameron-Colston combo that dominated 2 seasons ago is kicking up just on time for the tough stretch. We are hoping to do better than 6-10. We are playing much better offensively lately so we feel we can stick with many teams.

You have played a couple of good games lately! Perhaps a real upset is coming? We are ready though.

Wow gator, you guys musta been supremely misfortunate in this game... it does take quite a ton of bad luck to lose 42-0. Cam musta been walking backwards under a ladder with a black cat pacing in front of it to have been sacked 8 times and picked off 3... and hurried 16 more? Dang, I hope my defense bought lottery tickets this week. I'm sure Julius Dee realizes how lucky we are and isn't licking his chops or anything.

And man, your linebackers and corners definitely did not have luck on their side when they missed these tackles:

Positively star crossed. Maybe Mercury was in retrograde. That 21-0 deficit yall had at halftime was positively uncanny.

I will say, however, that I do think we had a bit of bad luck of our own today. It was pretty inauspicious that A7's leading passer went to sleep in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, despite having not been touched by your defense. A damn shame that a QB that went 70% against a USA Pro team last night and 80% against the elves managed to whiff on quite a few critical 3rd down passes during the middle of the game. But I guess you can say that was bad luck for the Hawks too - prevented cruise control from kicking in early, which mighta helped you get some points on the board.

Anyways, good game to the hawks, you guys are usually a class outfit and I do have a ton of respect to you, but you can ask FairForever how I feel about people making excuses and not giving credit after losses - and he's been a whole lot more classy since season 3. I just think it's a bit weak.

As for the West/East debate... I don't think this did much to put it to bed, since it was the 3rd place West team playing the 11th place East team. But those questions should be answered more in short order. Good luck in your big game with Alpine, in your scrimmage with San Diego, and the rest of the season.

I guaran-damn-tee you if we were in the West we'd be in the playoffs. As a matter of fact we would be in the top 5 in the West. In the East we'll be lucky to make the playoffs.

The fact that in the West you are given 7 wins just by holding your team together in speaks more to the inequality of the leagues. So let's just be honest with ourselves, in the East there is only one team (sorry Orlando) that we get as a down game...everyone else, if they played in the west, would likely be a 9-7 team. Minimum! And since 7 teams suck that means they only have to better than 1 team to get in the playoffs. That snowball you speak of must be mighty large, or Hell is a lot colder than I have seen depicted, because if you are guaranteed to be #9 and 8 make the playoffs....well, can you explain how hard it would be to make the playoffs?

I would say any East team that is 12 up would be in the playoffs if they were in the West and were guaranteed 7 wins over gutted teams. Not to mention how that helps with your fan support, bank account and recruiting during the offseason.

Right now it goes Buffalo, Portland, and Tuscon and 7-9 in the west. That is after Austin gutted. If they didn't call it quites it would be 8-10 for those teams. So how do you see an easy playoff spot in the west for the Ambush.

Truthfully i think the east is deeper then the west because of the gutted teams. and i think that NSDK, Alpine and the Mole rats would be fighting for a top 4 finish, but i think as far as the top 10 teams in the conference the west is stronger.

Imagine what RJ will say when the Hawks beat us on monday!

I actually think that it is great that you are trying to get some life to this forum. It is much more fun with a few discussions and a competitive (but friendly) athmosphere!

your false modesty is so transparent cav - you aren't gonna sneak up on anybody trying to play it off like you're not good! Seriously - scariest defense I've seen, and I've seen some doozies. Offense is no slouch either. Alpine is my pick for the East's championship rep, and whoever makes it out of the slaughterfest that will be the West playoffs will be in for a rough game.

I'm not trying to play us down, I know that won't work since we are 28-1 in A7 including the playoffs and our only loss was caused by a what Bort has said was a bug. But when I look at the other teams, the level of the players are about the same and I expect every game to be a tough one and game plan for it with that in mind. But no doubt, I think we have a good team and it was comforting to see today that we could still win with only two sacks.

Mat, I'm sure you are! Any game between NMR and the Golfers will always be a toss up. But remember that you have to get to the conference final to win it!

28-1 is an impressive record, but it's good that you're staying vigilant - when I was at Waco I amassed a 35-3 record... 2 of the 3 were conference final games Guess that makes me A7's very own Andy Reid.

Whats wrong about saying we had bad luck? Do I think we should have won? Of course not. But when we have 400+ total yards of offense and were in your territory 9 times and we walked away with no points, I say there was some bad luck.

Great game, but I still think it is fine to say there was bad luck.
