Sometimes. Certain positions though can't always be determined by stats. For instance the most pancakes shouldn't be taken into account for the LT. It would be better to look at least sacks allowed and such.

The real key to voting for players is consistency as opposed to overall numbers.

We'll let all owners/GMs who want to vote (1 per team) to do so but we'd like to try to keep roughly the same number of teams from each division voting. We don't want 10 Alpha votes and 2 Zeta votes...

Note that all three London RBs are in the top ten rushing yards this week.

Just throwing out an endorsement for someone here but..

BCB's kicker is 5 of8 on 50+yarders, the rest of the league is 6 of 15

Something else to take into consideration when analyzing players is the number of plays they accomplished those stats. If one guy has 30 sacks on 1000 plays and another has 20 on 500 plays, I vote for the 500 play guy.

Also, when looking at RBs, QBs etc., I think the games against the bottom of the league teams should be thrown out. Some teams sit their starters in those games and others use those games for stat padders.

Just some food for thought.

That is the hardest working Center in the Hall of Fame - Iron Mike Webster. That photograph was taken in his final year with the Steelers because he's wearing the "AJR" on his shoulder. AJR stood for Art J Rooney, the Owner, who passed just before the 1988 season. Iron Mike was 36 years old and he looks like he's 56 in that photo.

Zeta took a hit this season so I hope there are enough representatives to vote. I will vote for Zeta (Valencia Bats). Honestly, if we discuss a voting system (point system) that is almost better so then we plug people into the forumula. So example:

Sack - 2
Hurry - 1
Int - 2

Do this for each position but put in the hard to define stats such as sacks given up as previously mentioned or some stats to give recognition to the blocking FB or blocking TE yet still give weight the the WR TE as well. I know not everyone wants to look at each game but when you have a LOT that goes against sack leader and gives us 1 hurry and nothing else how does that weigh in. Does any of this make sense or is this just too much work to try and figure out. Like for QB I think completion %, QB rating, TD versus Int ratio should all play into it not just total passing yards and TD's (not picking on that spot just saying there are situations and the 'unknown' stats like this for each position).

Ideally yes, that would be the way to determine who gets in. But like you mentioned, these "unkown stats" take a VERY long time to track and would be near impossible to do for all candidates (especially positions where stats mean nothing - O-Line, CB). Drs and I run a spreadsheet for all Kilkenny's defenders that determines a "Pass Defense Score" by using Targets, Completions, Yards/TD's Allowed etc. This is a ton of work do to for just one team as you have to watch every passing play, so I doubt people would be willing to do that for an entire conference.

The voting has been pretty well done and unbiased the past 2 years so I'm sure this year will be alright with a similar method

Hi,

I just 'discovered' the WEA7 forum this season, and I will be voting for Zeta (Malmö Dawgs.Hopefully that will help make up for the guys we've lost on the forum.

I do agree with SDC that it will be to time consuming to what you propose Valakar, even though it would help identify the truly deserving o-linesmen.

Yeah I agree it is way too time consuming as well but for those willing to take the time consider it and those that don't won't. We have had a fair representation over the past two seasons so it will work out again.

Yes it should work out fair in the end. As long as there are no blatant biases it should all be lots of fun again this time.

Are we gonna go both Alpha & Zeta "Pro Bowl" teams this season, or is it gonna be league-wide again?

League Wide... i'm not about to do 4 full teams. That's just too much.
