Sometimes. Certain positions though can't always be determined by stats. For instance the most pancakes shouldn't be taken into account for the LT. It would be better to look at least sacks allowed and such.
The real key to voting for players is consistency as opposed to overall numbers.
We'll let all owners/GMs who want to vote (1 per team) to do so but we'd like to try to keep roughly the same number of teams from each division voting. We don't want 10 Alpha votes and 2 Zeta votes...
Zeta took a hit this season so I hope there are enough representatives to vote. I will vote for Zeta (Valencia Bats). Honestly, if we discuss a voting system (point system) that is almost better so then we plug people into the forumula. So example:
Sack - 2
Hurry - 1
Int - 2
Do this for each position but put in the hard to define stats such as sacks given up as previously mentioned or some stats to give recognition to the blocking FB or blocking TE yet still give weight the the WR TE as well. I know not everyone wants to look at each game but when you have a LOT that goes against sack leader and gives us 1 hurry and nothing else how does that weigh in. Does any of this make sense or is this just too much work to try and figure out. Like for QB I think completion %, QB rating, TD versus Int ratio should all play into it not just total passing yards and TD's (not picking on that spot just saying there are situations and the 'unknown' stats like this for each position).Ideally yes, that would be the way to determine who gets in. But like you mentioned, these "unkown stats" take a VERY long time to track and would be near impossible to do for all candidates (especially positions where stats mean nothing - O-Line, CB). Drs and I run a spreadsheet for all Kilkenny's defenders that determines a "Pass Defense Score" by using Targets, Completions, Yards/TD's Allowed etc. This is a ton of work do to for just one team as you have to watch every passing play, so I doubt people would be willing to do that for an entire conference.
The voting has been pretty well done and unbiased the past 2 years so I'm sure this year will be alright with a similar method
