There's one thing that is absolutely false about your write-up. We will not be happy with 9-7. We put way too much time into trying (and largely failing) to recruit better players to be happy with a mediocre record. You can say that we "should" be happy if you like, but we expect more. Otherwise we would not still be trying to recruit better players.

my guess is it got big in SC because it can be done while drunk, so when some midwesterners came to the west coast to get a real education they brought the game with them. it was easy to set up and easy to play, so it became a frat favorite here at SC.
