Nope. The number of cupcakes has decreased substantially from last season, as those teams did a lot of recruiting and improved their ratings substantially. Last year there were quite a few teams rated in the low 30s, but there are hardly any below 39 now and most at 42. Instead I think the reason for so many blowouts in Week 1 is that the stronger teams improved substantially as well. There are a lot of very strong teams in WE3, including yours.

Damn, I guess this was the week of the blowout. The average margin of victory was 36.8, with Loch Ness leading the way in an 83 point thrashing of Boston. Something tells me the Monsters are on a mission, and I can admit that I'm a little scared.

No different mission than any other season my friend. I dont think Loch Ness is the team to be afraid of though.

Seems like the usual suspects back on top of the board.

Would you please stop it house? You can't play possum after you finished in 1st place last season I think all of us here appreciate how humble and complimentary you always are....but come on! You guys kick ass and I know you want to say it. Go ahead

I mean, its fun to talk trash and all but it just makes you look stupid when you lose. In all honesty, theres a few teams just as good if not better than Loch Ness in Zeta. We have a good chance to win a lot of games this season but so do alot of others.

P.S. We finished second =)

I hear you. Zeta is always stacked at the top and keeps getting stronger from the middle down every year also. I like close games as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't mind looking at the schedule and seeing a few more cupcakes either. This conference causes premature gray hair. BTW, I wasn't trying to rub salt in a wound. I meant regular season champs, my bad.

Well naturally all the teams will get better, but all those "39s" were ranked around 36ish last season, it's just natural that they will improve. Heck we were rated 36 at the beginning and ended up at 42. But I don't think the problem is their levels, I think it's their builds. At least one owner, my GMs and I agree that there are only about 6-7 games we think we even have a chance of losing now. And it's not because we got tremendously better.

No, the bottom teams did a ton of recruiting and improved their teams substantially by adding players, not just leveling the ones they had last season. Multiple people have already commented on this fact. You said something that was wrong. Just let it go.

Maybe that's the case in Zeta, but in Alpha there are a lot of worse teams. One of the teams was sold (I think 2 not sure) and they aren't up to par yet, the relegated down team isn't that good. So 3 worse teams in Alpha, and the bad ones from last year (Yorkshire and Monarchs come to mind) still aren't in any better position.

You clearly have no idea when to stop talking. This isn't the first time you've been laughably wrong about something only to keep babbling even after someone proved you wrong. Yorkshire has improved enormously since last season. If memory serves, they were a 30 or 33 team, whereas now they're at a respectable 42. You don't make that kind of jump just from leveling. If you bothered to look before running your mouth, you would have noticed that many of the team owner's best players were with other teams last season. Moreover, last year Alpha had several teams in that 30-33 range, but this season there is only one team below 39.

When someone proves you wrong, your response should either be to acknowledge their correction or to just stop talking. I'm fine with either one, but don't embarrass yourself by continuing to insist you're correct when you clearly aren't.

There are one team in Alpha under 39 - Hanover. A great majority of teams are 42's and then there are a couple 45's and one 48. The 42's are going to be internally competitive obviously. And a 39 can beat a 42 any given second day (same with a 42 beating a 45, etc.)

The Alpha is not really that top heavy. Sure Dublin is going to put a hurt on a lot of teams, but everyone else is close enough that it's gonna be a dog fight throughout

jdbolick your incendary comments are really starting to to get my goat..

The only way lions will be proved wrong is by the scores , and THEY have yet to prove him wrong, overall rating is a good indicator of a teams strength but far from the be all and end all ( I think Foy proved that last year)

Sure Yorkshire's overall rating has got better from last year , but has their team , honestly I don't think they will take last years pastings but playoff material (now that would be an enormous improvement ) I don't think so

So if you have a difference of opinion all well and good, but to tell someone else to shut up or bow down , reeks my friend

I'm sorry, do you think I care what you think? Yorkshire might have a better scouting report, but they are still not competitive. And a team CAN improve that much from leveling and boosting. They might have brought in a few more players, but they still aren't competitive. How about you look at the facts instead of scouting reports. Last season Lewisburg had a scrimmage vs a team that should have beat us on paper and yet we won. Scouting reports mean nothing. How about you look at stats before you open your mouth next time.

Edit: I see you tried helping me out here pang, but it's cool. Morons like this really get under my skin, but I'm a big boy and can handle it.
