I think people are abandoning this game in droves. Last year, I posted an add for two offensive linemen and my inbox exploded instantly. This year, I haven't recieved a SINGLE contract offer or PM about my RB.

I think it has more to do with everyone in this game has their own damn team or knows somebody with a team so why hit the FA blocks.

Lots of teams are like us at the UG, where the only FAs we sign are....well I guess we sign each other to minimum multi year deals......

Irukandji are going to win a ton of games and will be one of the overall top 5 teams in Canada 5 this season.

Nobody is abandoning this game -- the exact opposite in fact. There are TONS more players than before.

Bort has a huge problem on his hands. He made it too easy to own teams. He also has too many teams gutting in every league. In Canada Pro I know we ended up with 5 or 6 teams just completely gutted (Yes, Pro is having a growing gutting problem too), and those players mostly wanted to stay in CPL, so they joined CPL teams instead of those CPL teams signing outside FA's.

Bort needs to a) make it tougher to own teams, and b) the game needs to weed out the whining kids who cry if their HB doesn't carry the ball 50 times a game. Once that's done, it'll be fine...

I liked you guys last year, you played and played to the best of the team's ability. You guy's have a while till you are top 5 though. Top 5 would be:

Calgary
Shilo
Chilliwack
Unsavory Gentlemen
Saskatoon

And those are in no particular order.

I think gutting is actually a GOOD thing for the general population. The problem is that Bort currently doesn't have an easy way to drop the gutted teams down to bottom level and move other teams up. The more gutted teams, the more teams with active players get to move up and get closer to pro. That's how it should be.

If you are active and want to play, you shouldn't have to stick around in the crap league for more than one season.

But I agree on making it harder to own a team. No reason a new account created should be able to put in an app for a new team on day 2 of creation.

Niagara owner has been out due to IKE. I'll be on a bit, but we still don't have power in Houston. I got out and went Canyon Lake. On my in-laws PC. Soon as I'm home, I'll glady be back to my normal self.

Niagara wins this year hands down. We are even better.

its been a relativly quiet offseason to say the least. we are now a full season removed from the moosejaw meltdown. followed by the mass exodus of their players to the rest of A5. Last year every team made huge splashes in the FA market but it seems alot of us learned a few lessons about most peoples builds. most of our teams seem to be nearly the exact same unit as last year only a bit more experienced so i look for a repeat of last season

I could see you guy's starting the season at 1-4 or 2-3.

What do you guys think about the Irukandji? I think we could get off to a hot start. Plus we have some really high level guys.

Well if you O-Line isnt solid then it dont matter how great your glamor players are...we learned that our wasn't to great last season and the record showed this despite having high level guys at QB/2HB/3WR but when it comes tot he close matches it will come down to whos GMs is smarts to draw up a better gameplan for the offense and defense
