the FS didn't intercept, the CB that was blanketing the TE for the whole play did

receiver is 15yds from QB at start of play and FS 18 yds away from receiver when the ball is thrown. How can travel faster than the ball and get the pick is beyond my comprehension!
I think you grabbed the wrong link?
The CB is m2m on the rTE on that play staying steadily 1 yard ahead, and catching an overthrown ball for an Int? SS is about 8 yards off the rTE there covering WR2, and cuts that to about 3 yards from him, but the QB threw it from his own 23, to the opposing 25 yard line, all air yards ... that's a 52 yard throw. The play you linked looks like you're trying to prove safeties aren't overpowered?

Yea, tell me how much it makes sense. You lose to an underleveled team we beat, and yet you beat us 66-0.
Make it make sense dude.....

I see this a lot on deflections, not necessarily interceptions. But I doubt it would take me long to find examples of safeties flying around the field faster than the ball is being thrown. If I remember correctly, the replays aren't accurate depictions of the sim.

So, taking Bort's "Replays never look visually as they play" statement and ignoring it for a moment, I see several things.
#1. Defensive dot passes vision check very early allowing a great jump on the ball.
#2. Suspecting defensive dot also has high speed and very good agility.
#3. It is a bit of a long pass but not overly much so.
#4. Qb's bullet lofty is unknown but, judging by that throw it could be not set to high bullet setting. It seems to float as a balloon. HOWEVER... if Qb IS set to high bullet then we're back at a problem I have discussed just about everywhere... Bort NEEDS to fix the speed of balls in the air. When QB's can set to max bullet and DB's STILL make plays like this then, I'm sorry, but that is just damn WRONG. (IMHO). I don't think a HUGE change is needed but this is yet another example of defenders covering FAR too much ground while pass is in the air. Since the game's beginnings, agents have learned how to make defenders much better... faster... quicker... so that whatever the original speed of a thrown ball was, it is now not adequate anymore. It needs a boost. Or get use to this kind of stuff because it's gonna happen a lot.

Don't know about QB settings but indeed FS has high speed & agility (and obviously Ball Hawk helps teleportation).

The QB rolling to where he's all but touching the LE right before he let it go, probably helped that be a floaty duck even if he was set to more of a bullet setting. Looked like one of Mac Jones' roll right, throw left pick sixes ...

Yeah. Again... Bort's not changed the speed of the ball in the air since, likely, that game was created. But other things around passing game HAVE changed and, especially, as agents that figure out HOW to match up SA's, VA's, and dot skills to do exactly what your D-dot did. This has made the old "ball speed" obsolete and it is in desperate need of a touch of adjustment. Just the ball speed. That still leaves the ability of Bullet/Lofty to OC's and the agents but, at least gives the CHANCE for the ball to beat the defender to the target. Right now it's crap (passing).
