The best thing about hitting rock bottom is that I have nowhere to go but up.

Also go into your tactics and dont throw on anything longer than 3rd and 8-10. just run inside or outside, the qb wont throw the ball until they hit the first down marker. When teams run ZEB against you on 3rd and long its almost always a sack.

Also, zone is brutal on rookie even when you know what you're doing. Even if the long plan is zone, i would run more man blitz and mix coverages.

This right here is solid advice.

Keep at it. You'll get there. The game is 8 years old so naturally people have more experience with it.

First tip: Avoid "Low" Contracts on your players. Fix that first.
Second tip: Use as much Salary Cap as you can. That means a lot of "High" contracts on the players you have now.
Third tip: You've found the Forums. Now got to "FAQs, Player Guides and Game Help" and the sub-forum "Build Help and Discussion"

Read the sticky posts.

Read everything "Rob" posted.

Yeah...this game is pretty complex. Not just player building, but when you start having to setup offense/defense playbooks, depth charts and strategies. You need core templates setup and then copy and modify for each game, or you will go insane.

It's a very small effect, like a 1-1 ratio usually, except on toughness and intimidation.

Popart - I'd highly recommend trying out the tool at http://www.glb2scout.com/index.php . The player builder is pretty invaluable for customizing players without having to guess at how your build is affected by stuff like attributes, costs, and caps. The entire site saves a ton of time on basically everything you do in GLB2. Other than that, study what kinds of plays the winning teams call and the kinds of builds they use to run them, and remember that it's probably better to err on the side of too much conditioning than too little.

Some intriguing ladder matchups in the 1st ladder games.

RRR vs Hawaii (4:00)
RRR and Hawaii came into this tier with high hopes and they are starting off on the right foot It is hard to bet against Hawaii with Boss history but Butler is on a mission. Mission derailed this week....Hawaii by 10.

Nebraska vs River City (8:00)
Can Nebraska avoid a hangover from their epic victory over top ranked Kentucky? River City with a measly 7-0 victory over a CPU team in week 1. Nebraska keeps rolling with a victory.

Kentucky vs Carrabelle (9:00)
Kentucky, the current top ranked team in GLB, vs Carrabelle...a nOOb, Russ440, who is on the forums asking how to play this game. Can you get any polar opposite? If Kentucky loses this one, this just solidifies the fact that rookie is nothing more than luck. I don't see Kentucky going 0-2...Kentucky gets their sh*t together and wins by 14.

Bill's Special Brownies vs Sons of Alderran Rebel Scum (12:00)
agerm73 and the Brownies have a legit defense. He has been around a long time and has some serious experience. Rebel Scum has a great staff with William78 and dredgar but is coming off a butt whipping, shutout from Intimidation Factor. My confidence is waning on Rebel Scum. Brownies by 10.

Gotham City vs Dallas Cowboys (17:00)
Jonny Patches and Gotham City coming off a big victory over 9th planet. He is a nOOb that is hitting the message boards hard, trying to recruit and get some experience. He is an up and coming new agent who wants to bring the pain. Can he keep his beginners luck going this week vs a Cowboys team who has a loaded staff and 8 offensive S*s? I say....YES! Patches pulls off the upset!

Intimidation Factor vs Vir Tech (18:00)
iRock and Intimidation Factor are like a run away freight train that cannot be stopped. ND Irish1 is making a come back from a long hiatus. He is doing all he can to get back into the game. Unfortunately, he is running into the buzzsaw that is Intimidation Factor. Factor by 21.

Game of the Week
THE OLYMPUS BROOD vs Farm (1:00)
This is gonna be a damn good game. Farm is the best team nobody knows about. Farm is basically the farm team for Hawaii...I would guess. Boss is on the staff and they have a bunch of high contracts. Kvothe27, Brood and their 12 S*s are looking to stay undefeated. Both teams are coming off a 40+ point victory. Brood win this game on a late 4th quarter TD.

Not sure how I feel a lot tomorrow’s game. Ransom is taking an interesting approach with low contracts

Ah yes...the ole 15 S* team. I think the low contracts will bite them in the end. I wouldn't take that approach....contracts are too important.
