I'd say that's tbd at this point.

would be interesting to see a team with 30 run blocking skills trying to run regularly -- does anyone do it?

I occasionally try to run for a 1st down with DD, if I catch teams in a pass defensive formation I'd say I convert most of the time. If they run any type of Rush defense though I get completely hammered.

I'm terrible at this game. Someone who knows what they are doing come save my team's Superstars from my own incompetence.

Allow me to simplify this for you.
On short yardage (3 yards or less), run these plays:
Singleback - Singleback Crossup, TE Post
Shotgun - In N Out, Corner Threat
SB Trips - Flood Left
On plays longer than 3 yards, run these plays:
Singleback Spread - WR1 Clearout, Diamonds(it's decent enough, not great), Double Threat(not as big a fan of HB route here)
Singleback - HB Clear, TE Drive
Singleback Trips - WR Posts
Shotgun - HB Clear Out, TE Drive
If you feel like getting fancy, you might do something different for "longer than 3 yards" in the redzone. When you get 10 yards out from the endzone it can get a bit dicey trying to run the plays above, what with no room to take the top off a defense and all. The short yardage plays above are great for "within 3 yards of GL" stuff though.
Now just jack up your sprinting and quickness the rest of your professional season. Offensive woes solved.

They didn't blitz much, unless you are counting 5-2 cat blitz roll which I'm assuming he thought you would run a lot more. Plus their LBs are awful blitzers.
Look, it's still possible to throw as a balanced team, I know that. I guess I'm tied up in my situation with a dual threat QB whose passing skills are in trouble with the changes.

A leopard never changes his spots.
WG staff has been getting lazier and lazier over the years, realism was never the goal, just balance. Whatever blows up yesterday gets a target from the surreal numbers gun, and that inevitably creates a new problem elsewhere as builds adapt to the new meta.
If WG staff constantly chased more realism I think all of the balance issues would work themselves out, but that takes more thinking and time, WG is, an always has been an extremely short-sighted company, they routinely take shortcuts to solve problems, and I'm sure that comes from declining flex sales, as more work turns into less and less revenue. But I'm of the belief that flex sales have declined due to the staff's mishandling of the game. I haven't bought flex in a while, and don't intend to, nor do I intend to make any more dots. Even playing this game for free is a waste of time.
Dots have no sense of teamwork or AI, that is and always has been the problem of the game. They just do whatever their assignment says. 3 dots end up in man coverage on the same dot and they will all try to run the exact same coverage, they won't get into bracket coverage or do anything sensible, they'll all try to just mirror the route, which is probably the easiest thing to code short term, but long term it's F****ng stupid. There is no sense of long term planning at all. I get the feeling the staff doesn't see any work spent on this game as valuable, because ultimately I think they see this as short lived and are hoping to pull as much money out with as little time spent as possible.
I also expect this post to be deleted. GLB likes to censor any sort of negative opinion of the company to further their aims of keeping the players from suspecting that things aren't so great here. Which is truly sad IMO, I think Bort really had a great vision and great plans and I'd be willin to bet he's working tirelessly, but I get the feeling he's surrounded himself with some horrible business people who have done nothing but made horrible decisions and influenced the company into the twisted shape it's come into today with rampant cash grabs. In another life, another world, another place, GLB might have been something great, instead it's just a shadow of itself. Prepare for more and more bandaids to cover the fact that game logic doesn't mirror realism, yet the powers that be are still aiming for realistic stats and scores. So they'll bandaid the code and focus on shorter term solutions that keep the game running, and maintain the status quo.
IMO the best thing for the game would be if when Bort decided to develop GLB2, and stopped working on GLB1 he had spent that time working on nothing but dot logic and making teams work together as a unit. Then they wouldn't have to patch broken O-line blocking code with limited blitz assignments. and maybe they wouldn't have to patch horrible coverage code by making passes harder. An maybe they wouldn't have to patch terrible FFum Recoveries an ball physics by just giving dots the chance to fail to recover it. But none of that's gonna happen. Get ready for the same bull that caused so many users to leave GLB1, death by a million bandaids. And ultimately, WG deserves to fail so long as they keep doing what they have been doing.

I mean seriously, signature's have been cut off since day one of this game, and they've never even lifted a finger to re-format the text box size so that signatures work here like they do on GLB1. What does that tell you about how little they care about obvious problems? They could always hire some temp coders to clean up the site presentation and not even touch the sim code, but they're too busy splitting up what little revenues they are to actually care about spending money bettering the game. People like this do not deserve our money.
Literally
Inspect element on signature, click <div>signature, and edit the max height in the style box from 40px to 45px. With one high school coding class I've fixed a problem that makes the forum look like garbage in under 4 minutes. Just edit the max height of the signatures in the forum code. how hard could it be? Why has this remained unfixed since Day 1, when it was noted and reported multiple times. This game is just an elephants graveyard of obvious fixes left undone. This attitude is everywhere in this game, I shouldn't be able to identify and fix problems that have been broken for over a year in under 4 minutes. That's not right, and if ever there was a time I subscribed to the broken window theory of bad coding, this is it.

im very opinionated as well however i hope they don't get rid of this game i mean there isn't nothing out there close to glb2 as far as everything i complain about changes and realism too but if im real to myself i have tried to google search other games and i have found nothing similar i just ask that the staff hears us man
i like this game seriously and would hate for it to be neglected because there isnt much like it to this level
but please corndog bort and staff hear us out
we don't hate you guys we just know the potential this game can reach i mean jeesh
i stopped playing glb1 because i couldnt watch dots and the presentation wanst good over the time then i found glb2 and almost busted a nut lbvs.
hear us staff
we will support you but we just want a mutual level of care and respect. we know your job isnt easy but we ar putting money in your game and it has a great potential and i love it

Certainly easier to pass with a rush oline than run with a pass oline but my thinking has always been get pass block skills up to perfectly managable spots and then go crazy on run block skills. Lack of pass blocking skills is probably gonna hurt me this season with Rusty though. We are pretty minimal in that area when it comes to the heart of the oline and these changes were a nice little wrinkle to the plan.

Easier of course. They get to build up their skills quicker. The other changes don't fucking matter to them at all because they don't give a shit.
