Think about the perspective of a younger owner for a minute. You just finished 2 corners on your stadium, and have a nice bankroll of $8M in lv 22. You're feeling like you did pretty well, you're geared up to pay for your players and probably bring in some new recruits with some good signing bonuses. Then you look at the other teams in your league. One of them has $180M and a full stadium. You don't know him or his motivations, but you know he can easily poach all your recruits, fully equip all his players, and he has an advantage over you. You look at his history and see he played in a Pro league last season. Does this inspire you to continue playing, or does it make you say "this is dumb, I quit?" According to many people in our survey, it makes them not want to try at all.

Think about it. It's not just stadium sections. It's free cash. You don't have to pay for those sections again. That's an extra $20-30M you get free and clear over the other guy.

If the premise of your argument is simply "but it removes MY advantage specifically, but makes the playing field more level for everyone else" then you're actually arguing FOR the change. You want to start over? You start over.

Not if you just cap the funds.

We worked hard to build this. So you're saying those in it from the beginning don't deserve a slight advantage? People who have tested, and worked, and PAID for this suddenly have to lose everything?

Especially when the advantage a full stadium brings is slight at best if you cap banked funds?

CLASSIC EXAMPLE of you guys fixing 1 problem and causing 2 more.

The workaround for this is high level teams won't pay for any EQ for several seasons. Those teams will suck ass and although not gut jobs.... won't be much better.

Used to be AAA and up was top competition. AA is pathetic. AAA is a joke. Even Pro is getting iffy. And it's impossible to have enough cash to stay in World League without farm teams or collusion.

THE PROBLEM LIES IN WHY PEOPLE WANT THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE.

The irony in this Bort is that you realize there is a problem, you guys have come up with a way to deal with it, but you refuse to apply to everyone equally.

When you make a major change like this, go full bore. If you want teams at every level to be on an even playing field to start under the new rules, reset all cash and stadiums to the presets listed earlier and let everyone compete on that playing field.

Only doing so for future demotions still leaves countless teams with maxed stadiums and massive war chests in the lower levels and sadly those teams will maintain that advantage while others (under the new rules) aren't able to exploit the system like they did.

I'm not at all saying don't implement the rule -- I think its way past due -- but it unfortunately doesn't cover everyone and that is a problem.

Which is why the money system is also being changed drastically. It is not at a place where it is announceable yet, but Bort and Catch have alluded to it multiple times in this thread and quite a bit of info is laid out http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3789390

To be honest anyteam that wants to try and accomplish anything(espically the ones that have the $180M) have basically every position filled for a full season before they demote.

If they are giving up and starting over, yes.

You don't get free SP for making a new player just because your old player retired. You start with 15 like everyone else.

HELLO??? BIFF???

They are fixing the equipment issue by making it a function of the player and not the team

Honestly, I might be able to suck it up, bite my lip and take it if EVERYONE gets screwed equally.

Might.

I'll keep beating the dead horse -- others who gave up and started over were given more than "everyone else" who was just starting. They were allowed to keep things from higher levels that others couldn't compete with.

Wipe the slate clean for everyone, take the forum beating from the pissed off 12 year olds in stride, and move forward.

Keep in mind that there are a number of garbage teams that demote. I've lost a lot of recruits when I had teams in lower cap leagues to teams that were bad in higher leagues and dropped down without a plan. They just outspent everyone else giving out max offers to fill up their roster.

Exactly.

This a long-term fix, just like the archetypes.

People aren't seeing the big picture.

I think the reason they arent making it affect the guys who got away with it is because of money Most of those gutted teams who are now on top are lost of the major Flex buyers if they set them back and make them start over they risk losing a very large income by making them mad where as this simply makes the medium and not so good teams more equal it turns to a pecking order something like this

New teams/Non gutted teams/Play on equal fields but gutted teams who already got away with it become far more superior than they already are
