Play ball for the next 3 weeks or play for the rest of your life? Ease it off now so you can play freely in the future.

I know how hard that is, right when I was trying to get into lacrosse I ripped 2 tendons and cracked a bone in my finger, so they wouldn't let me practice with them. I was losing my goddamn mind sitting there watching

Anyone here have a particular issue/philosopher they like?

I started reading Nietzsche around 12 or so. That might explain a few things.

I find that without philosophy being a required thing in my life, and without having to hold my tongue to not offend my classmates and professors, philosophy is actually fun/interesting.

That's the way life is supposed to be, and its one of the many reasons why "political correctness" drains the life out of any society that embraces it.

Three advil (200 mg) every four to six hours to keep the inflammation down. 1 or 2 Tylenol (500 mg) every eight hours if you are still getting shooting pains (as those will cause the muscles to tighten up again).

Cut that shit out! Soft tissue and tendon injuries both take goddamn forever to heal. You literally have to be as sedentary as possible for as long as possible.

Not exactly. You need to keep the inflammation down and keep the muscles from tightening up in the area around the injury. Being totally sedentary will cause the muscle injury to heal in a way that will limit its strength and range of motion. A week of icing it and NSAIDs with normal daily activity, followed by 3 weeks of exercise therapy to allow the muscle to retain its normal range of motion is the best way to treat.

Being too active (especially when your muscles are tight and inflamed) is a recipe for long term damage and a miserable short term.

Passive therapy only will cause the other muscles in the area to compensate too much, which will cause long term problems. Massage and Chiro only work when done in conjunction with physical activity that allows the body to stop compensating for the damage.

Well fortunately my job requires walking around for 8 hours so I'm not being totally sedentary. Its always worse at night trying to sleep because I move alot and sleep kind of on my side so I tend to put pressure on it and its always sore in the morning. It loosens up a lot throughout the day as I move around.

Try some better weed.

There are so many strains, some put you to sleep, some have a caffeine-like effect etc etc

I used to smoke every now and then in college and I never really enjoyed it. I actually got cock blocked twice by weed. Once I smoked with this chick and we were gonna bang but I passed out after getting high and the other was after a barn dance and I got sick and puked after smoking when I was doing fine before.

Lmao that sucks. Haven't been partaking in the sticky myself recently but I remember there was some weird looking stuff one of my friends senior year had, made me energetic as all hell

If you sleep on your side, you might get some relief by putting a pillow between your knees to ease pressure on your hips.

Still, ice + Advil is going to be your best friend and will help prevent random triggering of larger symptoms.

I don't sleep straight on my side but turned over with one leg kind of kicked out which actually puts more strain on that muscle when I try and move.

Go see a DO. There's not a ton to be done for soft tissue injuries, but they can probably alleviate any extra stress/tension on that particular muscle or surrounding muscles
