This isn't true. I ran man defense against BETA, against you, against Buffalo (as the Brontos), and against myself when we faced the Brontos - and ran some of the exact same plays that Intim Factor ran against us. They just lacked the personnel to make it work, and I'm sure being entirely unboosted contributed to that
I mean, if you are 100% sure your defense is built to stop 3 WR trips toss right/QB run right with a man defense. But I guarantee if he would have ran a zone nickel, you wouldn't have scored half the points that you did. That CB on that side would have at least got in the way half the time to slow down the runner. It is just safer to run a zone against trips.

Also, your run defense is gross no matter what plays you call - who the heck takes shed block as the first SA on rookie CBs??
My defense does. I've played this game long enough (and specialize in zone defense) to know what SAs are needed on zone defenders. I have silver break run block on 3 of my 4 CBs right now because I am an all zone team (except in certain occasions against trips WR on teams that pass the ball). I build, big, strong CBs who can defend the run and pass. Silver break run block and gold EOTP are a must for my starters. I get BRB to Silver first to stop outside runs because that SA immediately works in rookie. Breaking a block is huge for CBs containing the outside run. I also get Hold Ground to a decent level as well for reverse pancakes. Nothing like demoralizing the opposing blockers
