do you lose superstar points just due to scrims? i thought you get them back as long as the player hasn't gone up a level?

You used to. They mentioned they might change that, but there is nothing in the change log.

Also, fun fact, my very first S* HB ever is totally borted now. Had the misfortune of deciding to put 1 into agility on the build, and now I can't reroll him.

Basically, the only choice now is to plow on and try to adjust the roster a bit next season with some generic backup dots.

I like you but I HATE this argument.

It's not a matter of stat line, but if it was, the offense that I punched in here was one in response to the defense that I knew (me and hayrow coordinated) was coming at me. Hence why I was getting the yardage that I did the first scrimmage.

Put yourself in my shoes here. I spent a month (while on downtime due to a surgery) coming up with builds, working the traits, squeezing every drop I could to get my team to be the most efficient it possibly could. I knew at every tier when I was going to be able to add another superstar. I had success last season, more than I should have ever had, sure, but I had success playing against half a year of lower tiered games. Now this year not only am I looking at 25% the effectiveness of some players from last season, but I have NO time to adjust. I can't just swap around my roster now to pick up another rb. My whole roster is built on conditioning as it's main focus and now that advantage that I had is not only gone, but now I am at a significant disadvantage.

If you're telling me that six yards a carry is the BEST that I have to look forward to, and it's because people cried instead of adjusting at all to the meta and put all their cap boosters elsewhere, well yeah I'm going to be pissed. I feel like that's fair.

Huge change. Funny how they rolled out the most game breaking change at the last second without warning when it seemed they were done with changes this offseason. Not much I could have done about it either way since I'm already at vet but damn I feel bad for the lower tier teams that this is screwing over.

It's probably good for the game though, just glad I rode that conditioning train while it lasted.

After telling myself never again re: buying flex, I bought flex for the first time since first couple seasons of GLB1 (i.e., years ago) due to the increased dev attention on this game the last couple offseasons.

lolme

For realsies this time, never again.

is the conditioning train necessarily done? I thought conditioning was more important than ever considering people are talking about the need for depth?

Lots of us have done this. Some have been really good at navigating the changes, some have been bad, some lucky and some a mix.

First, they do change things and the META has changed in the past and everyone knew it was going to change at some point. It just changed now. Are you really that surprised when Trogdor averaged 6 First Downs per SERIES? Really, this is a shock to you?? You figured out the analytics, now add in some judgement about what that all meant. They HAD to do something.

Second, you also don't know if 6 yards per carry is your best. You haven't adjusted yet. Also, against a top team why is 6 yards so bad? Passing was OP and Belgarath averaged under 8 yards per attempt. It's football. If you average 6 yards per rush against top teams, you win Super Bowls and go to the HoF.

Third, the other team is nerfed too. Their Offense and their Defense got nerfed - just like you. Winning is a relative metric, not an absolute one. You won't rush for 30,000 yards this season. Neither will anyone else. But you could still win a ton of games.

It's important. You need a lot, but it doesn't make you Superman anymore.

I'm not worried about conditioning per se.

I'm worried that it sounds like depth has turned from a strategic choice to a necessity.

My builds are fine except for a couple with no budget for quickness or potentially no agility in the first place (i.e., nothing to do with conditioning and stamina).

My roster construction is not with only 33 players, despite the super high stamina which was supposed to make 33 players a plausible roster.

^ this. changes will certainly shake things up a bit but backs running for 30k yards a season needed to go. just turned the whole game back to the GL QB sweep spam type of box scores. i am all good with more realistic totals and so far that is what we have seen. but as usual, extremely lame of admins to throw in a change like this with no warning on preseason day when its too late to re-spec or adjust the roster much.

changes hit BB as hard as anyone but luckily we always build pretty well rounded instead of trying to min/max the whole roster and every build on it so we should be able to adapt. hopefully everyone else is able to do the same

The bonus of the conditioning train was to just pile up stars with no depth and let them shine. So yeah now that we actually need depth the conditioning train is done. Not saying it's still not good to have conditioning but this changes roster construction and the power of conditioning completely.

Trying to think when we've seen rage in the forums before (though probably worse than this due to more players)

- GL QB rollout removal was an awesome one
- O Line Blocking Nerf - I think this happened two times and I was definitely one of the ragers in one of them

When else?

It helped my passing game out for sure.
