Last seasons mvp had taken a back seat on rushing, but he's still a beast on special teams

Week 8 brought some interesting results:

Cincinnati made a statement in the wild card race, walloping the preseason favorite Naps 40-0. What happened? Nashville couldn't get the ball moving, and gave it away 4 times. Individual performances carried the Dinosaurs; Boy TE Pass pulled down 12 receptions on 13 targets for 123 yards and 2 TDs, while DE Ben Derhover had 3.5 sacks and 6 hurries on 38 plays. Cincinnati held onto the ball for 46 minutes, and outsnapped the Naps 101-54.

Hartford played mistake free football, and got two takeaways, but didn't have what it took to earn their first win against the Eugene Elderly. The Elderly escaped embarrassment on the back of their 5 back rushing attack.

Play of the week: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/296113/1753275
Tyler Lockett makes a play with no time on the clock to win the game for the Sleepers; breaking Wrinkled hearts as they had taken back the lead with a 14 point 4th quarter. Sleepers ensure their undefeated record won't be matched as the Wrinkles take their first loss.

Can Leroy Kelly catch up to the Saskatoon dynamic duo? 298 yards and 6 TDs in one game is one hell of a way to begin the process. Boy TE Pass has been tearing it up with an average of 7 rec/game, and a total of 95 targets over 8 games. Though he started late, he's showing no signs of slowing down.

Cincinnati has come on strong in the back half of the season, beating Gamma Division's best teams by a combined 67-10. Their game against Saskatoon next week could ice their playoff spot or toss them back into the Maelstrom of Wild Card Play. Saskatoon could feel the Grandpas breathing down their neck with a loss. Meanwhile, Nashville battles Phoenix; a must win for both teams. Washington gets a breather after a couple gut punches of losses, slipping low enough for Nashville to have a chance to take the division with a few key wins. It would take a miracle for Eugene to make the playoffs, but if they can extend their winning streak they might be the first team to make the playoffs after 4 straight losses. Hartford continues to be the Magikarp of Senior League; the Grandpas must be salivating to continue their hot streak.

Power Rankings:
1. Cincinnati
2. Saskatoon
3. Phoenix
4. Jacksonville
5. Washington
6. Nashville
7. Eugene
8-11. No one cares
12. Some rookie team probably
13. Hartford

I found our lack of rushing disturbing. I feel like moral and score have much greater impact on Legend games. Because we were way behind the whole game there were 6 rushes total between c'mon man and dimitri. Blasphemous!

I call it regression to the mean. Saskatoon has rushed way more than anyone else this season

Around the league:

- C'Mon Man wins the game for Saskatoon on a punt return: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/296131/2492705 With the play, Saskatoon is in pole position for the playoffs.

- Washington jumped out to an early lead and never looked back against Jacksonville. Jacksonville has a much tougher mountain to climb to make the playoffs. Leroy Kelly remained on track for the Rushing yards league leader trophy.

- Hartford remains unvictorious, losing to the Naps handily. The Naps are still in bad shape, trailing the Wrinkles by two games.

- Cincinnati and Eugene, the two teams on a hot streak right now, remain undefeated with a 17-17 tie. For Cincinnati, this means that Phoenix could take division lead after their head to head match up. For Eugene, this means that barring a miracle they are eliminated from the playoffs.

- Louisville played Leeds. Someone won. That's all we need to say about that.
