Some interesting ladder matchups

#1 Djibouti Assasins vs #11 Winnipeg Wrath - without a title game to play, every game becomes extremely important for DA to end up with the best ladder trophy. I think DA wins this one handily though.

#2 Madison Bulldogs vs #9 Hub City Hustlers - With a loss in the first round of the playoffs, it will be difficult for Hub to move into the Ladder Top 5. However, they can play the role of spoiler here in their final Vet season if they take down the Bulldogs. The mandate for TDiddy is simple - win out, and a #1 trophy is likely theirs. With that in mind, I think Madison takes the win again.

#3 Monmouth Evil Monkeys vs #23 Niagara Rapids - Probably the worst matchup MEM could have gotten. A team that is still slightly scary (almost upset Madison), but the lowest possible team they could have drawn in ladder - hence a very low ELO gain if they win. I'm predicting MEM to win - but as TDiddy noted earlier, even if MEM wins out, they're not guaranteed #1 ladder. This ladder matchup does not help them at all.

#4 Flying Spaghetti Monsters vs #22 Bronx Bombers - Another awful matchup for the trophy contender. Playing the best Pro team, that has beaten both LogZilla and MEM, with a lot to lose and little to gain. Bronx has a lot to gain (setting a new record for games won in a row) with a win here. We'll see if AZ can stay in ladder contention with a win here - a loss would certainly take them out of the running for a Top 3 spot in the ladder. Winning out will probably put them at #2 or #3 - so a lot is at stake here. I think Bronx pulls off the semi-upset.

#5 Bad Meets Evil vs #19 San Antonio Gunslingers - BME is by far the best non-playoff team in Vet this season. They are ranked higher than every other team in their league - yet still found themselves on the outside looking in. They will be facing a Gunslingers team that is somewhat weaker - this should be a one-sided matchup. Based on the ladder differential, it seems like BME has a cushion and by winning out will be the highest ranked ladder team in their league. Not sure that is much of a consolation though.

#6 Whoville Whos vs #24 Doinitin Djibouti - Should be an easy win for the Whos. Unfortunately, without a playoff game, they're going to need someone in front of them to lose in order to get a ladder trophy. They also need to avoid getting jumped by GA or Richmond, which is no sure thing.

#7 Ground Assault vs #27 Too Many Cooks - Not sure how much gameplanning the Cooks are doing. On paper, this looks to be a win for GA. But again - drawing from the bottom of the barrel from a ladder ranking perspective can't help this late in the season, win or lose.

#8 Richmond Raiders vs #21 Wesley Chapel Belligerent Drunks - Richmond is definitely the favorite coming into this one - but Wesley Chapel's offense can still be scary. Richmond needs to win out to have any shot at a Top 5 ladder trophy, which would be a nice consolation after the awful start to the season. The high k-values really help teams come back from poor early seasons.

#10 New England Patriots vs #30 Hostile Takeover - Oops. Had the wrong matchup. Hostile is a good team with a very good passing O - but it will be tough to beat the Patriots, who have some Vet players and a lot more salary cap room. For Hostile, a win here helps their ladder ranking after taking a loss from Central yesterday. For the Patriots - well, the Patriots don't have a ton to play for here except bragging rights. I'll go with Hostile eke-ing out the win.

Bronx has the ability to help Whoville get back into the top 5, but I am still rooting for FSM.

Might want to check that matchup again sir.

This is awesome, I seriously doubt I'm in real ladder contention, and didn't even realize I was ranked 4th. (How'd that happen, I've lost like 7 or 8 games?)

Anyways, Bronx is definitely the juiciest ladder draw out there. Who DOESN'T want a shot at stopping their gigantic win streak? This is for bragging rights! A re-match with Madison would be in my best interests ladder-wise, but screw that, I'm happy I got Bronx.

Other teams have been hoping to avoid Bronx, fuck that shit. Bring em on!

I was hoping to get another shot at them in the playoffs, but Central had to ruin my fun for this season

If I was in your spot, I'd be more open to playing them, but not with a chance at #1 at ladder... facing them this season wouldn't help us one bit... a win wouldn't help us, and a loss would destroy us. We'll face them soon enough, hopefully not til next season.

Looking forward to another shot myself. We outgained them in last season's title game, but only managed 3 points. We were definitely capable of winning that one..some mistakes in the offensive gameplan just wasted the defensive performance. They've really only beaten us badly twice out of about 7-8 meetings. They're definitely just a better team..we're close enough to beat them though.

edit: twice, forgot about one of the beatings

might as well do a re-edit and up that # to 3! lol

yeah the BB vs falcons games are always my favorite, very tough competitive games that come down to defense. i think we have a pretty good idea of what you guys are going to try and do and I am sure you have a very good idea of what we are going to try to do so it should result in a pretty good game. we've caught some pretty bad RNG lately so if that trend continues it may end up with you guys winning a shiny gold trophy. gl

DA hasn't played yet, and we're still in 2nd... we must be further behind them than I realized
