First off, I think CD has the right to stand his ground on this the same any of us do - he may be grating at times, but I can be as well. He cares about the game like we do, and I know it can feel a little crappy to work on trying to do something good and have people crap all over it. I'm not good at conveying that my main concerns are for the health and meta of the game at the vet level - where people spend most of their player's time at.

Second off, it is a bit odd to specifically mention TV, and lower tech, when TV is meant to be a power skill and only one team is really using a high level of tech and TV.

So, it's not hard to see why it'd feel like a direct counter to them.

So the 33% number came from a place of testing for balance?

Tunnel Vision halves the Tech of the blocker. AU is a a counter and does the same except it's not even half. And when did Tech and TV become a new thing

It's a boost to power, using it with just barely enough power so it activates still and 90+ tech isn't something I recall too many people doing before.

I still think no skill should lower your opponent's skills - only raise or lower yours - TV included.

57 seasons in is a strange time to change it though

i think debuffs have just as much place as buffs

High Tech has been used with TV before though, usually on DLs that use both Spin and TV.

But more than that, AU does the same mechanism that TV does. I'm not sure why you think a 90+ Tech DL using TV will stop being impactful. Has this team ran any sims yet?

All I said is that it is easy to see why it would feel like a directed nerf at them.

And while that may have been the case that someone has done high tech TV before, I don't think it was ever made a big deal about or gotten the same kind of results that RIF has very publicly gotten.

Where are people having trouble defending the pass rush in vet for this move to be needed?

1 sack, qb throws coming out tic 20 and sometimes as low as 14. sacks are dead

You may be right, but universally debuffs will work more in your favor than a buff if there is diminishing returns, and can wreck complete havoc on people who aren't already building cookie-cutter min-max builds and rely on a mix of tech and power skills.

Which sim? Plenty of sacks in the sims I've seen so far.

Logzilla for example was using AU, and gave up 9 sacks. https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/837270

I mean, as much testing as a single person can do in 3 or 4 days. I'm guessing it mostly comes from having been doing this for 14 years now, guessing he has a rough idea on what will be balanced.

I'm completely open to the idea that it's not perfectly balanced. I'm just very much questioning how people have gotten to that conclusion and the anger associated with it.

As with most things it's wait and see and make changes if need be. After 57 seasons it seems people would more or less be used to this.

The changelog specifically says AU is a counterpart to TV, not that it's specifically meant to counter TV. It's a roughly similar skill for OL.

I can't remember seeing anyone especially not any sort of majority of people complain about QB sacks. So why make a change that addresses that? Why chose that random out of nowhere change to execute instead of other changes that have majority support year after year? That's the part that is frustrating for the customers.

Sack percent in vet as of last season. - Counting League games only.

Apes - 4.8% (44 attempts)
Ghoulies - 2% sack rate
We are Borg - 1.46%
Bengals - 1.2%
Screamin Eagles - .09%
Koolaid - .09%
Logzilla - .07%
Yeits - .06%
AEW Rampage- .059%
Deadpool's Mercs for Money - .05%
Jarvis Street Coffee Squirrels - .035%
Southside - .025%
Assisted Living - .019%
Nevada Wolf pack - .017%

I postulated .08% for next season before looking at the numbers. (1 sack every 125 plays) I'm WAY to high. It's going to be more like .03%
