Later in the season, you'll see a divergence in dot talent. For now, it's 100% about play calling.

rookie ball is flawed in the play calls and I think the fact you can have CPUs over 3/4s of a team and they can still win because of the playcalls. I mean its a lot of zeb and QB runs despite the team's future play style.

Only a limited set of plays work with crap players. All players are crap in rookie. Ergo, having a crap CPU or a crap human makes no difference. Pointing to the amount of CPUs on our roster doesn't prove anything.

Also, you like to blame it on ZEB and QB runs, but the play that won us the game was a pass to a TE.

yea I left out the TE passes, but those 3 was pretty much the idea behind the CPU challenge. I remember do it and coming away with the knowledge that rookie was broke. But that's just me.

The QB runs in rookie are awful. THe QBs need no investment in anything run related, and still can dominate.

I'd happily do away with designated QB runs and just let scrambling QBs scramble.

That didn't work for us against Whoville obviously

So any play that works proves that rookie is broken and not that play calling wins rookie?

Seems like a good time to point out that Central finished in or around the top-10 from Rookie through Seasoned recently, with only 15 human players and no S*. It doesn't become impossible to compete halfway through Rookie.

imo a lot of this goes beyond just player talent. Little things like depth chart management and using High contracts really make a big difference.

A lot of times I see teams with CPUs on 0 Chemistry. It's really easy to just re-offer their contracts at the start of the season and bump that to 50 Chem.

with 2-4 TE passes, QB runs and Zeb.. You can run a pretty decent rookie team, no matter the builds or number of CPU. I remember spamming QB runs when I invested nothing in making him a rusher and doing really well. I just think rookie is counter productive compared to other tiers. I just don't find it all that fun for many reasons.

At least make QBs walk like brainless paraplegics in QB runs, maybe needing a huge ammount of carrying awareness/physical skills to properly run, or maybe slide as soon as a defender gets close to him.

That was a bold move, playing goal-line against them. You got a lot of decent stops, but those flaming QBs find a way. It's like conditioning doesn't matter for them in rookie.

my problem was I didn't think whoville had a chance against us so I left my offensive playbook the same as the other games and it cost us. Great coaching by osiris

Ah. I've faced the Central Falcons (mostly CPU) and they were a really good team, due to coordinating. So I now take all teams seriously

Yeah, I like the suggestion to "kill" rookie and do at least another season in vet.

Really, you don't need to kill rookie though, you just need to start dots off with a lot more SP and take those extra SP out of later seasons or drop a season.
