10 points will nt beat them, and so long as Xars doesn't bone his tactics on defense, I'm convinced that's the ceiling for our offense.

Pray that Logzilla somehow gets #1 seed and Mercy Flush beats out the Gunslingers for Wildcard?

Screens aren't inherently great. It's the poison pill choice they force on a defense that makes them great, assuming the offense is built for it. They tear up popular defenses for stopping downfield passing if you can block them up decently and have a fast enough WR to exploit them fully.

Sedita's downfield numbers are as good as they are because of the threat for screen IMO. He wouldn't be as nasty in Xars offense becuase of the defenses he'd face.

Most of his numbers come from the WR3 spot, so not sure about your screen threat argument. Pretty sure you are basing everything off of his one game per season against GA.

Wait, is there an actual decent screen for the WR3 spot and I'm just now finding out about it?

There is one that Air Raid used to run, but it is hit or miss. I don't use that play though, so I'm not sure what Gal is talking about.

Probably true, but with 4 other S* WR/TE on the roster, hard to know for sure.

But that's the point. Screens (in 2WR) force Defensive choices that expose a team to either defend Chalice/Flag Deep Posts. It's the MIX of Plays that is OP - not any one individually.

Everyone complains about 3WR TE Drive being OP. But if you just spam it, then everyone runs Nickel 3-3-5 Man Base which does a pretty good job of defending it. LZ is about making the combo of 5 plays better than any one play. It's that way for 2WR. Screens significantly enhance other 2WR Passing plays. The overall MIX of 2WR is significantly better than 3WR.

3WR Trips has 2 screens and Singleback has one. WR Screens that is.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/209520 Only garnered 13 targets against FSM blitzes.

Belgarion had 36 and 37 in the last 2 games against FSM.

I'm thinking he benefits from your OLine against teams that can't blitz as well and thus gets deeper down field where his elite Speed really kicks in. Or it's that those other S*'s draw so much attention.

31 targets for Sedita against Richmond: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/206915
12 targets for Belgarion against Richmond: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/204812

We can single out games or we can look at the body of work.

True, but my point was about blitzing. Richmond didn't blitz you; they played Cloud. All of your WRs could get deep.

There's also no way to know what the other S* effect is.

And I'm not against Sedita since I had him on Creek Valley Beast earlier in his career. I'd probably build Belgarion as a Speedster (like Sedita and not Shifty) if I had to do it all over again because I didn't invest in Route Elusiv but went heavy Physicals.

Your point was about screens, then it was about 2WR and 3WR passing, then it was about supporting cast, then it was about blitzing. You have many points, but I will just point to Sedita's catch rate and leave it at that.

Tiny sample size. 3 completions out of 8 attempts will do that. One of them isn't really Saul's fault. Pass was aimed at WR2 who broke wide open, the LDE just batted it down at the line:

Don't get me wrong Rob. I think Sedita's got a better build than the Logzilla guys too. Speed is good.

Xars, you don't have to explain to me the merits of running those 3WR plays. I ran that core of plays with Air Raid before the Scout tool told everyone else that they were cool.

And yes, that does make me cooler than the rest of you Johnny Come lately all passing OCs
