Okies. Fine.

Post when they're up and I'll go let the Con Men wreck Yorick again...

What would even be preferable is if we could somehow swing two test servers, one for current sim and one for tests and have a scrim option to use the test one, rather than having scrims be irrelevant for the average person.

We can't see the scrim server can we?

I mean, having the scrim server not be representative of the actual sim during the season sounds kind of misleading and confusing.

Not sure why you couldn't just implement the changes on an off day, would give users more time to adjust than the original change did, and would stop all this bickering for another 20 days.

Nothing stops bickering in a gaming forum.

Cuts down on it. I'd return to my hole.

Is there anyway to have the community test them? Or maybe pick some owners and clone their teams to a development league and let them have at it? I don't know. But I would not recommend releasing the fix in to production without a few more eyeballs to look at it. You will never get consensus, but you will get a much better idea of compromise on balance and changes.

Hahaha. How about have designated "Scrim Test Server" days then revert them back as you collect data and look to make the next change. For example you could make it every blank day. (Blank day refers to the day between the league and ladder games) Then revert the Scrim server back to the regular code on League and Ladder days so people can still test things out in the current code.

Most off days have more people running scrims than other days, so that would make the prime scrim day irrelevant.

It's either that or ladder days. Plus if you announce it ahead of time in forums or announcements sent to every player they'll know which days will have a test server code in it. 10% of the time people just get pissed off because they have no advanced warning. The other 90% they just want to be pissed off

What about make the announcement of a testing game the next blank day of a cycle. Schedule it as a ladder-like game. In one go you'll get a LOT more games tested.

Oooh, I like this, make a game type called "Test Game" which picks an opponent based on ELO, and runs a scrim

Doesn't get GLB any money though.

Just throw in the changes on an off day and let users pay for scrims like last time, except it's actually on a free day.
